GDT: Canada vs USA

Nope. We crapped on his first two periods last game, the dumb helmet penalty etc but he played a great 3rd and OT that game.

This game he was on ice for both goals but both were on other teammates yet he gets the hate and blame. Just think some fans are looking for any little flaw.

He showed well in the 9 NHL games but needs to gain strength and work in his defensive assignment then showed real well in the AHL during his conditioning assignment. Then he sat a month and did not play a game until this tournament. So Kings fans know we don’t have to worry. He was never deemed a generational talent, he wasn’t a top 5 pick. He is progressing well and does have some warts to work on.

Seattle will probably need a bigger go to guy than Wright, but may have that in Beniers.

Don't look now but the Nuge is 11th in scoring... more points any of the Big 3 Leaf, Kaprizov, Panarin, Syd etc - he's gone to another level this year

He has a lot of nice tools, probably the best tool set on the Canadian blueline.

Just some questionable decision making fairly frequently.

Well, he’ll never be the primary option on a contending team and I feel the same way about Wright.
 
James Duthie in regards to Canada's lacklustre play in the 1st period: "So what do you do? Do you tear a strip off them if you are the coach or Shane Wright?".

I can't picture Shane Wright doing that. Or any of his teammates listening to him if he tried to do it.

Yeah, obviously it's probably because a lot of people thought Fantilli was a lot closer to Bedard but clearly expectations needed to be tempered. Fantilli reminds me of Toews
