The scoring touch, i.e. finishing is indeed the biggest thing, but only if they get serious about not handicapping themselves in the first place with stupid selfish penalties.I bet they dont take a single selfish penalty in quarters. And they were fine defending and moving puck 5v5. The scoring touch is the biggest concern.
Didn't we already do that in 1998 when Canada lost 6-3 to Khazakstan and finished in 8th place?Guys, are we witnessing the downfall of Canada?
That is possible. I am going to watch the game anyway. They are headed for back to back tournaments being eliminated by Czechia in the quarterfinals

They finished 6th in 2016. That was the squad with Mitch Marner.
Yup and Strome, Crouse, Point, Chabot and Konency. I think the 1998 squad only Luongo and Lecalivier who went on to be stars. But you are right there were a lot of players from the 2016 team that became stars. They finished 6th in 2016. That was the squad with Mitch Marner.

The 1998 team only scored 9Is this the worst ever Canada’s round robin result with only 10 goals scored in 4 games ?

He didn't have much to do. Most of Canada's best chances the shots missed the net.Augustine was really quality after some shaky games earlier, he had a very strong performance.
US has the better forwards and defense. Canada has the better goaltender. Thought it could go either way and once Canada tied it up they could have won if they stopped giving the officials a chance to call penalties.,This result should be surprising to no one.
Sure, as we an only use our imaginations for that to have happened.Parekh and Yakemchuk would have looked nice on team Canada
The whole team is a disgrace!Folks online blaming Cowan for the loss. Y’all need you get out of your feelings about the Leafs, it ain’t his fault.
