This is the first game of the WJs that I watched but it was a disgrace. Our players couldn’t stay out of the box and on top of that it wasn’t even possible to blame the refs, the penalties were so flagrant and stupid.

We looked not only bad at hockey with our ineffectual offence, we looked like undisciplined spoiled children. It is one thing to lose playing honourably, another thing completely to lose like that. I do not know why the ridiculous conduct but it looks like good news that our better prospects can now go the NCAA route where they can get an education and learn to conduct themselves properly instead of spending more time in the CHL hockey bubble. (But if course Hockey Canada could continue, in its wisdom, to spurn prospects in the NCAA).

I bet they dont take a single selfish penalty in quarters. And they were fine defending and moving puck 5v5. The scoring touch is the biggest concern.
The scoring touch, i.e. finishing is indeed the biggest thing, but only if they get serious about not handicapping themselves in the first place with stupid selfish penalties.

I am thinking that they will clean up the stupidity and give themselves a chance. They aren't stacked on offence but they could be doing much better.
