Canada regulation win would make an intriguing final round as the standings would be Canada and USA with 5 points and Sweden and Finland with 2. Could have a 4-way tie

Why try a different goalie when you can play the one that showed up for one of the four periods. Albeit the most important period, but still you can at least give Hill a chance to see if he shows up for more than 1/10th of the game.

I find it very hard to bet against Canada on home ice but if there's an iteration of an American team that can do so I think it's this one. The "X" factor for me is going to be how the U.S. defense handles the speed of the Canadian forwards. As a team, the U.S. is going to have to take care of the puck and avoid sloppy turnovers, especially in the neutral zone. Guys like Eichel and Hughes may need to rein it in a touch.

I have every confidence in Canada being able to match up to the USA in all areas except in net. Hopefully Binnington can prove me wrong tonight, but I think that's going to be where the US's biggest advantage will be.

All the kids talking Mcdavid this, Matthews that, Mckinnon there. Daddy Sid is going to remind everyone (again) why he was/is "the next one".

You can see the generational shift in discussion these days just from age. Nice to see Sid remind everyone of his position among the previous and current greats.

If the last 10 years, are anything like the next 10, this could be the best hockey game in the world for the next 10 years. Last time best on best canada/usa was played was 2014 olympics.

Still ridiculous Kreiders bum ass is even on the team. Dude in no part whether it be past play last season, or current play this season, deserve to play over Kane or even DeBrincat.
Yeah, he wouldn't have been out of place last year but he's having a rough go of it this year. The problem is you aren't going to have guys like Keller, Thompson, DeBrincat, etc in a 4th line role. I probably would have went with Knies or Tuch instead.

I mean, Canada's d isn't exactly great and have guys who absolutely fold under pressure of a forecheck.

Neither team is gonna wanna feed the other teams top transition players with shitty turnovers.
