McDavid and Marner didn’t really work in Game 1, but Cooper didn’t change it.
Sure, but who is the next sacrificial lamb to be placed there instead?
Nobody has shown so far the chemistry needed to play McDavid's line in a short tournament. Same kind of goes with MacKinnon. It just is what it is right now, and makes the rest of the line rotations Cooper has look disjointed.

Like, people can bitch and moan about Hyman not being on the team. I don't disagree except that Hyman was colder than Edmonton in February during the Ice Age at the time of roster selection. He's not at the tournament, so crying doesn't help.

Wilson would be at home in this type of game. He is playing well this year and this is from a Bruins fan.

Anyome miss russia, lol this is way way better. US/Canada is the real deal and has been for a decade or more.

80%+ for Canada on the "Deserve-to-win-o-Meter."

Binnington letting in two softies is what's costing them.
This is my issue with Binnington. He made a couple of key saves in the 1st, but he seems to completely negate any "good" by continuously allowing weak goals. That first goal was ass and he didn't have a good angle on the Larkin goal.

It's going to be difficult to win the game if the goalie is likely to let in any halfway decent scoring chance. Kinda separates the "good" from the "bad" goalies, the ability to actually stop scoring chances.

Two huge misses by management. Schiefele with McDavid would be terrifying. I'd say Wilson as well considering this is an NHL ref'd event. Wouldn't bring him for IIHF refs but when you've got McCauley and Hebert basically treating it like a SCF game you can bring Tom Wilson.
Good points. I do agree Wilson over even Marchand
Hyman with McDavid
Schiefele with anyone would work better than Cirreli !

They need to start rolling out their big guns especially with Makar not being on the 1st pairing. Put Mack, Crosby and McDavid out there.

Roll a line of Point, Reinhart and Stone to shut them down.

Rinse and repeat.

Play the hell out of them.

How do you know that when they literally haven’t tried anyone else?
