For Finlands sake I hope the game will be tough and even. This could be a good one and plenty of goals.

Gonna swim until 2. I'll come home, watch the game (on DVR - 1 period delayed) and treat myself to either :

1) Chicken Wings
2) Kraft Dinner with hot dogs
3) 2 Burger King Whoppers

I'm leaning towards # 2. To heck with my heart health. The World Juniors are special.

**

My ex Father In Law could NOT watch Canada play at the World Juniors because it was too hard on his heart. I hope/pray I never get to that point.

Coin flip.lol.

Canada has pedigree and always comes up big

Swedes rule on round robin

It is on big ice which favors Sweden

It is in Sweden which I think favors Canada

Coin flip.

If I'm being honest... Very hard to beat a team twice in the same tourney and not seem HIGHLY likely to be in semis so a loss might not be a bad thing. Eg. Czechs beat Canada in round robin last year but lost the gold medal game.

I just have to say that statistically speaking big ice hasn't been a determining factor in whether Canada wins gold or not, at any level. This is largely a persistent myth that refuses to die for whatever reason.

9 of Canada's 20 WJC golds have come on big ice in Europe (1985, 1988, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1997, 2007, 2008, 2020, that's 45% so nearly right down the middle at 50-50.

Furthermore ALL of Canada's 28 mens WHC golds have been won on big ice in Europe.

Statistically speaking Canada is the most successful country ever on big ice.
Now do the last 10 tournaments and break it down...

I did and it's not even close. Canada is dominant on NA ice and still pretty good on the Euro ice (1 gold).

Most recent decade disagrees with you. But yes, overall and using 40 years.. you are absolutely correct.

How many blows can this blueline sustain? Already the most injured one in recent memory. If the Mateychuk injury is serious they'll have no true puck movers.
