Canada played as it usually does at this tournament, which is to say in a fairly messy way, Czechs played in the style they did 20 years ago with bodies and sticks everywhere waiting to counter attack. Wright's line has been Canada's best so far, Othmann plays like a throwback. Canada looks much better when both teams are settled, key is probably to cut down on risks to choke off Czech counters.

This WJC has been hands down the most entertaining one I’ve seen, and not just for Canada. So many wild and close games from seemingly everyone.

I actually get sad having to switch to the NHL, it’s boring watching such structured hockey compared to this mayhem and competitiveness

Happy it's a one goal game. We all knew Canada would come out flying. Two huge hits and a laser. However, we are still in it and that is key. If Canada goes up 2-0 then the Czechs are done. Some great looks include the rysavy breakaway. So we are getting looks. I'd call the first 19 minutes even.. the final minute was me shitting my pants.lol

Why do you guys constantly think 2 goal leads are insurmountable? If you're playing a good opponent, they're easier to lose than they are to keep.

I wouldn't go as far as to say Canada dominated but the Czechs have not sustained pressure while Canada has leaked a few individual chances while responding with sustained pressure line after line.

Have to say that the Czech defence plan vs Bedard is not working in that Bedard is having difficulty penetrating their coverage but they're leaving too many other key Canadians open for offensive options.

Will see if they adjust for the second but they're opening themselves up too much on the Bedard coverage.
