Canada Russia Series interesting tournament for you?)):)

Haven't watched anything from these series of games in more than a decade. Well, not entirely true, I did watch the 1 game McDavid played as a 15 year old his rookie season in the OHL. Hockey Canada should have dropped this from its WJHC prep a long time ago and come up with something better...so, minus mega exceptional prospects, this series holds little interest for me.

I enjoy watching this series. Been watching it for a bit now. Get an early glimpse of skilled players playing with eachother. I mean, what is there not to like? After these games we won't see any action until Dec 12-15 when we have our trainings camps in St. Catherine's so I'll definitely enjoy this.

Amy word on who the Russians will have on their roster for this series?

Im with snipes om this one, It has become something of a tradition, an early fall dose of good international hockey. As jack slater said...........its a good chance to see our players and what they could do and you also get a look on some of the better Russian players

Great. It's a tournament I always enjoy doing. Nice to see the best prospects competing vs. 1 another.

This tournament is for evaluating purposes, I would say. It best serves borderline candidates.

Neither Svech nor Kostin should be borderline candidates.
Evaluating - yes. Borderline only - no.

I wanted to see how Svechnikov looks in a meaningful jersey. As well as Kostin. How they play for the national team against better competition than NA minors average teams.

The thing I like about Bragin he takes nobody for granted. If one of the 2 or both would not perform in the series I would absolutely agree with scratching them.

Now we basically get 2nd unit tryouts. Most of the guys are no future national team players.

It would be nice to see more stars, that's true. Especially more centers. Too bad Khovanov got sick.

Anyone know the Russian roster yet?

9 players from NA leagues:

USHL: G Berdin

WHL: D Alekseev, Minulin

OHL: D Samorukov, F Lipanov, Sokolov

QMJHL: F Abramov, Koltygin, Rubtsov

27 man camp roster of players from russian leagues:

G Melnichuk, Sukhachev

D D.Alekseyev, Yelizarov, Bogatov, Zaytsev, Makeev, Maltsev, Knyzhov, Kalinin, Kurashov, Shepelyov

F Altybarmakyan, Veryayev, Ivanov, Romanov, Slepets, Kara, Kukshtel, M.Maltsev, Manukian, Moiseyev, Polodian, Rasseykin, Rakhimullin, Tsyplakov, Sholokhov
