You don't have to touch the puck to be involved in the play.

yeah but that one wasn't because Canada touching it. Apparently they first guy jumping on for Canada jumped on when the guy he was changing for was still at the circles, which is too much distance, hence a delayed too many men call on Canada, then the Americans touched the puck at their bench during a change so too many men on them

Here they both had 6 on in the process of a change, both within sufficient distance from the bench that neither is a penalty unless they play the puck, Canada played it first and then the Czechs did. I'm not sure of the rules but I think Canada touching it immediately blows it dead and thus no Czech infraction

Night and day difference, they played fast and aggressive that period. A fire was definitely lit under them, hopefully they come out and play like that again this period.
 
Let's hope we don't get the first period version of Canada against for the first.

The difference between Canada in the first and second was night & day.
 
I've gotta give credit where credit is due. NHL officials make international officials look like complete jokes. I mean, they aren't perfect, but the international refs always seem completely clueless and lost, out of position, phantom calls every game, etc. Positioning is a HUGE part of referring, and the international refs seems to be frequently in the wrong place, in the middle of the play, etc.
 
CAN fans aren't "salty", they just have incredibly high standards. These are junior kids. Bean messed up on his pinch and lead to a 2 on 1 and Ingram couldn't get out of his beach chair fast enough after having no shots in 12minutes(Typically gets shelled in Kamloops).

The hyperbolic treatment of kids' play is silly, but at least they're fanatics for their team.
