Actually, Hellebuyck dragged the Jets to the WCF in 2018 and finished third in the playoffs in GSAx for goalies who played 5 or more games that year. Finished third again in 2021 after, unfortunately, sweeping the Oilers.

Skinner has yet to have a single good postseason. He's had one great series and now four playoff collapses over seven rounds. Oh, and he's still ranked below those three goalies in pretty much every single metric this postseason. Ouch.

Did I mention finishing 26th out of 28 goalies in GSAx in 2023? Basically losing us the Vegas series almost on his own.

He's the anti-Patrick Roy.

That's a hollow excuse for an incompetent management group that hasn't had a good playoff goaltending since 2017 (eight years ago) if not 2006 (ninteen years ago).

Other teams have good years in net here and there, this team has no excuse.

A- we have the personnel to play like that
B- we have the capability to play like that
C- we aren’t built to play like that
And
D- we aren’t coached to play like that.

We are coached, built and wired to play an emotionless robotic positional game and rely on our two nuclear weapons to win the day.

When your goalie is no.1 in GSAx in the playoffs, sorry but he's not the reason you're down 1-2 in a series. It can also just mean that Dallas is also a damn good team who is also is getting solid goaltending this year.

Because the Avs didn't score enough goals. McDrai are better, more prolific playoff scorers than MacKinnon and Makar. The biggest reason they have a Cup and McDrai doesn't is Skinner. You bet we win Game One with Blackwood in net and McDavid's heroics.

You just want to stick to that because you want to absolve responsibility for the current McDavid era Oilers having the worst playoff goaltending in the modern history of the NHL playoffs.

No it isn't "voodoo", it's just means not every year is lights out goaltending, but when you have the worst playoff goaltending of the past 30 years and you're trying to act like you're just the same as everyone else ... you're not.

The Avs during the 2022 season were arguably the most stacked team of the cap era. That team was frighteningly good, an absolute buzzsaw. They scored at will against us (also Smith sucked)

Stuart sucks. Voodoo or not. It sure helps to have a good goalie going into the playoffs even if the goalie has a crappy playoffs.

Probably pretty quick. But the Avs built a championship team. We built a lottery team with two really good players.

Also Makar is far and away the best dman in the league.

That Avs team would've been arrested and put in jail for the things they'd do to Stuart Cloutier.

The idea that the Oilers were some how going to win a Cup like that Avs team and "we don't need a goalie!" shows how arrogant some people were.

That Avs team was 3, maybe even 4 scoring lines deep with great chemistry for all of the lines, this Oilers team still goes running back to stacking McDavid and Draisaitl together and the other three lines doing f*** all every playoffs often.

That Avs team had Cale Makar, Evan Bouchard isn't 1/3 of the player Makar is.
