Post-Game Talk: Can we leave Stu in a California Closet?

Don’t see enough complaining about the famous Jeff Jackson

This man may have ruined this cores window

Who called for JJ to join? Probably Lowe and Bobby Nicks.

This org hasn't had good management for even 1 second since Katz took over. Maybe one good move every 3+ years, with dozens of mediocre or just stupid moves between, while we fail against teams that have GM's making multiple amazing moves every season.

Just riding draft luck as far as it could take us. It did take us far 1 time, with a fortunate first 3 rounds avoiding the elite playoff teams, and with a once in 3 decade playoff performance from a generational talent, but still not far enough.

So they didn’t give up in game 1 with Stu in net
But decide to shut er down and make Pickard look bad in Game 2
Make that make sense lmao
What? That isn’t what I said.

The team decided to give in and start fresh the next game. How is that hard to understand? You’re making it sound like game 1’s comeback is normal. It is extremely rare.

But why try until the end in Game 1 but “give in” in game 2?
Why is it ok to stop trying to play defense in when a new goalie comes in?
It’s not
You’re making lame excuses

Because the same goaltender still sucked when the defense didn't, postseason after postseason after postseason, and we're sick of listening to you deflect blame and come up with every excuse in the book to excuse it, when the eye test clearly matches the numbers for everyone who isn't bereft of critical thought.
This is what I always say. Guys like Gregor, Lowetide, Skinner fart sniffers all over the world, etc will never admit it.

HE - IS - NOT - A - PART - OF - THE - SOLUTION

You have to say it very slowly for those guys

If we become a top 5 defensive team, Skinner will STILL put up junk numbers and not come up big. You can see this with how brutal and shaky he looks all game.

We were a good defensive team last playoffs. One of the top. 0.901 last playoffs lol.

Last 10 cup winners. COL had the lowest right? 0.904 or 0.905? Complete juggernaut up front.

otherwise, cup winning goalies are all around 920+

That's it. The end.

Oilers had a lot more going in the 3rd period of game 1 than they did in the 3rd period of game 2. They were completely dominating 5 on 5 play in game 1. They had very little going in game 2 in the 3rd period.

No its not haha his career playoff sv% is 898
I am just going off what I seen on TV 2 nights ago during the TO game. They showed Skinner second worst among active goalies and had Silovs last 9I don't count him). So this dirtbag has almost 40 playoff games, has been dragged to the finals, and still is absolute HORSESH** for a goalie

Imagine how little confidence everybody has in front of him. This slow clown looks like he drinks a mickey of vodka before every period. Just all over the place and lost.

I dunno about you but if my team gives up in a game rather than fight to the end to send a message that this won’t be an easy series
I’d say they’ve given up in these playoffs

I mean you can just tell that guys like Gregor and Lowetide have zero understanding of what good goaltending looks like. You go watch clips of Vasi, Shesty, Sorokin, Swayman, Helle, Demko (when he's healthy), Saros, hell even Blackwood and you'll see one of these things is not like the other.

I'm actually curious now. I'm going to go look up a "Stuart Skinner Highlight Reel" and laugh at how it looks in comparison to any of the highlight reels for those goalies.

You know, just when I think I might be a tad too harsh on Stu, someone busts out a little tidbit like this to totally blow my f***ing mind. @Oilslick941611 what do you have to say about this piece of info? Even I'M surprised, dude.

And keep in mind, this data INCLUDES the Dallas series.
I don’t know you were you get the idea that I’m a skinner fan. I’ve never once said it. Yet you continue to tag me in posts. Like the post you are replying to has nothing to do with me at all. You are everything wrong with this board.

Bob was better than Skinner last year, only by a margin….

It isn't a matter of the lines not working. Its a matter of having ONLY two forwards, McD, and Drai that ARE working. Its a roster problem more than its a coaching problem.

2yrs ago we got lucky on a Nuge season from heaven. Somehow it happened, a 100pt season. We got lucky on getting Kane when he was healthy and still able to score and put up some pts. We got extremely lucky getting an outlier whacked right out of space career year from Hyman. The regression from that was going to be extreme. Then we got guys like Skinner and Arvid who people figured would be stars here. The error in thinking was that we had a lot of offensive goods when really we didn't With time, fatigue, injury our offensive weapons have regressed to again just being two, and this being far easier to cover when we only have two.

Theres no coaches or line combos that can make gold out of only two forwards going. That just isn't possible. We need Hyman, Nuge, Kane, Skinner etc to find some semblances of their game which to this point they haven't been able to do. Apology to Kane its no fault of his own. But its the orgs fault thinking the magic was going to be here after a year off.

We needed to improve in offseasn and TDL. WE didn't get that. Now we're fairly stuck.
Well I prefer to go to previous combos and seeing if you're wrong. There's no sense for an offseason thread yet.

We've come back from 0-2 before in the McDavid era. The team is coming back home.

There's even the injury and rust factor. Kane and Hyman might improve every game or start clicking in the right combo.

I'm curious about what we do in goal. I don't like either of our goalies but maybe going with Pickard sparks something. It would be nice to grab a lead for once. It might make LA play differently too

Nurse had a small stretch of good play and then he remembered who he was. He's also just not a good playoff player.

As for Bouchard, maybe they need to show him tape of last year?
Nurse never got worse or better. He just either works with a partner or does not. He doesn't work with Ceci or Bouchard. He does work with Stecher, Kulak, and maybe Walman. So...how about playing him with a Dman he can work with?

This team looks like absolute shit. The PP looks like shit, the PK looks like shit, ES looks like shit and the goaltending looks like shit. LA is a better coached team this season and Knob, Gulutzan and Mark Stuart are all being outcoached. Too many injuries, too shitty of goaltending, this could be a sweep.
It looks to me like they just expected to walk into LA and beat them as usual, without even giving them the courtesy of being aware how much they've either improved or desperately want to beat us.
