Post-Game Talk: Can we leave Stu in a California Closet?

Don't forget Kosko!
The media should apologize to Koski. Got more shit given to him by the media clowns here when he played with a much more inferior oilers roster.

Funny how a stars team missing both Robertson and their best D in Miro can still win 2 games against an elite Avs team because well they have a goalie that can make saves. Would be nice to have a a proper goalie again.

As soon as the media rhetoric about the Oilers being "happy" with goaltending seemed like it was the truth, the TDL was a lost cause.

"Not a good enough option out there"

Would Gibson be worse than this turd? Even Petr Mrazek is a better f***ing goalie

KEN f***ING HOLLAND would have traded for a goalie at the TDL, I guarantee it.
Avs had same issue, went out and traded for Blackwood. Every sports mind in hockey stated we need goaltending. Our brilliant management team said No. Wonder what they think now?

The return of Kane was kind of like that last Tyson fight.
:(

Still glad he's back. Time to take control at home.

Start Picard. Swap Skinner for Arv.

Not that I think that J Skinner is a big difference maker or anything, but the narrative that he doesn’t PK is now out the window, as our guys that do PK can all be sat after their atrocious last two games.

The series is pretty much what I expected so far, i.e., L.A. dominant on home ice, the Oilers struggling to score or press early in games, and the Oilers' PK a trainwreck without Ekholm.

The Oilers absolutely deserve to be down 0-2 in this series, not only for their putrid play but for the insane decision to start Stu Skinner in game two. All season long, Pickard has performed better, and game one's poor result necessitated a change. We all saw that. The org somehow didn't.

Don't get me wrong, even if Pickard goes in it's not the Oilers are likely to win the series, but game one perhaps would have been possible. I would have been very happy with a split in the current situation, and they could have had it, but for the sheer idiocy of the people in charge.

Anyway, Oilers can't play defense without Ekholm to stabilize the ship. But you'd think they'd be able to score a bit in the first two periods of games when the goals matter. So far, two goals scored in 80 minutes of period one and two.

I think I never have seen worse defending by a team and goal-tending, than in this one;

- First goal, Brandt Clarke is leaved all alone in front of ouir goal. Skinner doesn't try to poke check the puck, even it touched his club. And there was not a defender in sight. RNH was gliding back BEHIND Danault.
- Second goal, Nurse is out buying a sausage at the blueline. Holding hands with Draisaitl & singing comabaya.
Bouchard answers with just standing as a statue in front of our net and letting Byfield walk in and put the biscuit over the shoulder on another statue in Skinner.

And that goes on and on for the whole game. This team deserves to get swept in this series....

Winning with average goaltending doesn't mean you have a bad goalie propped up to look average, it means you have an average goalie propped up to look good.

Seems like Bowman is trying to do what he did in Chicago, not recognising the difference.

They aren’t doing anything 5v5 and now they suck on the PK as well

Yup, 2 games, 2 losses and a 6.11 GGA and .810 save %....and this is our starter !!!
Bowman said they have access to stats not available to the public that Stuart is good. He must think Edmonton fans are idiots and dont have access, or cant find access, to all advanced metrics- and none of them show Stu as a good goalie

In a way these last 2 games are a blessing. Finally exposing Skinner on a stage that management can't ignore, Knob exposed as a garbage coach who was propped up by an elite team last year (as was Skinner). Both need to go. It was a nice feel good story for the hometown kid, and the coach who knew young mcdavid but the fuzzy feelings are gone. Time to move on from frauds who can't hang in this league.

I have a wild theory that Bouchard was upset because we traded away/didn't resign his friends. McLeod Foegele and Bouch were pretty tight. He is playing like ass because he doesn't give a damn.

As frustrated as we are the seasons not over yet. No surprise kings won both at home. They were the best team all year at home by a wide margin.

Its a good size hole the Oilers dug the selfs. But we are coming home. They say your never in trouble until you lose at home and that hasn't happened yet.

Funny how the kings have become pp merchants yet no one says a word not to mention I believe the kings were the bottom of the league in drawing penalties yet miraculously are #1 in the playoffs and again not a peep lol.

I know I'm just letting myself up for disappointment but I still have hope

Imagine Jeff Skinner after over 1000 games he finally makes the playoffs and plays one measly game. Then is benched the rest. Because that's what's likely happening. lol. Oof.

We win Game 1 with actual goaltending. Flat out. The other aspect is when your weak ass goaltending is causing you to chase from behind every game its much much harder.
Exactly this Kings play a different game with lead they when down. You can’t be down 3 goals in the first period of every game it’s exhausting has been all season.

Theres a reason Pickards winning percentage is so much different.
