I hate how Phillip is not playing. This org always sends the wrong message to youngsters.

Big game. And the next against the Cucks. Canucks already ahead with 3 games in hand after our game tonight. I wonder if we will ever win our division.

Friedman just confirmed McDavid is playing tonight

As long as we keep making improvements in our game and don't crater, we are in a better position to win the division now than in prior years. Usually by now we are 10+ points out of the division lead that we slowly narrow through the year.

6 points out of the lead is within striking distance already. If we do our normal thing where we catch fire from Jan 1 onwards, we will be in a good position to win it.

McDavid is playing already? This guy truly does have generational healing powers and Ryan over Philp is coaching malpractice. As if watching Dermott with Nurse isn't enough, Knoblauch has to throw Ryan over Philp in the pile as well? Come on now.

Also, I approve of the dog theme in this thread. They're the best. I'd post one of my 16 year old chihuahua (yep, he's 16 and still going strong somehow) but maybe I'll save it for later when my ass is less lazy.

McDavid is just a freak.

Love the projected lines hopefully they don't abandon them if the 1st period isn't the teams best.

McDrai will be back together if the Oil go down 1-0. It's the way it has always been around here.

Another injury where the career ending speculation by mcjaded was wrong

I didn't say it was career ending, I said it looked serious.

Yeah, I don't get this either. Philip has looked very good, and Ryan has not.

I've come to accept that this team never has been, and never will be a Front Runner.
They can only find their best game when mounting a comeback. They need that sense of urgency and pressure of being behind.

It's honestly the Achille's heel of the team. They start seasons slow, they start playoff series slow.

Until that changes I'm not sure they'll ever win the cup. It's really hard to end up at the top when you insist on starting from the bottom.

My gut feeling is they lose tonight and Saturday. And I wouldn't be shocked if they get shutout in one or both as well.
This team is shooting muffins. and it's not just dumb luck either. There's a reason for it.. they have to figure it out.

That my new little guy Roscoe doing his job looking after the horses. Once he's fully grown I pity any animals that want to get close to those horses...

Impressive to see McDavid back in the line-up. Though we never got direct insight on his injury so hard to know. What we do know is big game against a division rival and he's back quickly whether Heritage Classic last year or hated Vegas this year.

Start your engines for the Captain tonight to set this team's pace and compete level. And early short-sample meritocracy gets a fresh look finally with J. Skinner on Line 1 and utility player Nugent Hopkins re-assigned to a flaccid Line 3.

Time to flip x-goals into the real stuff. Special teams to be special again. And to deliver a message to the Vegas Golden LTIRers.

Contrary to what cat lovers are thinking, this is NOT a dog of a thread.Too bad it will get locked when the GDT happens. It’s a great repository for all HF Oil to share the pics of their ‘best friends’.

Go Oilers. I hope CMcD shows Eichel how it’s done tonight. And I hope DRyan (a great guy by all reports) only plays about 35 games this season. He’s now a depth forward at best. KK needs to come to his senses and recognize it.

Wow! Great news to see Connor back! Hopefully he's had enough time to fully heal and isn't rushing back at the first sign of adversity.

I love the move of Skinner to the top line and hope that if Podz continues blowing chances on the second line they flip him and RNH or even consider Henrique in that spot.

Can’t trust young players.

Meanwhile our veteran fourth line or leadership group will probably be negative players tonight.

I agree with Henrique moving up if Pod doesn’t adapt quickly. However I think he will. We need a success story.

Maybe I’m being a grouchy old bastage, but RNH needs to show some life and energy right where he is before any thought of elevating him to the first line. As a veteran and leader on this club, he’s been a large disappointment this season to me.
