If they lose, yes.
They, nor should any team, be exempt from that.

Though, if they host next year, then they get a pass, as all host nations do.

We still the best at hockey! This is just under 20 hockey.

..oh and no chance to get relegated.

Need better coaching. should have always ran with Hofer and the lines have been a mixed bag, not much thinking.
I still personally think Rodrigue is the right choice. 1.33 GAA and .949 playing in the U-18 tourney against much of the same competition.

One thing is for sure, the quality of the junior program is slipping more and more in recent years. There was a time Canada was a lock for a medal. Now Canada looks like a meh team every year who has to have everything go right to win.

I don’t know where you are from but the quality of the CHL is not slipping
The problem is that our best players do not play against tough opposition like all other countries.
When scouts select our players in the draft they are looking for down the road potential and not immediate success
Unless we come up with a super league or allow our superior players to move to the Pro hockey we will always be subject to off and on success at the under 20 level

They could lose all games 10-0 and they won't be relegated.

It's like...is Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates reeeally gonna go to jail for that unpaid parking ticket?

Think logically and be realistic.

There's like...a 10^-5 % chance of this happening.

They'd have to lose to the Czechs, then the Germans, then lose a best of 3 to Kazakhstan.

I know it's probably an overreaction but Canada hasn't been good at all these 2 games (except Lafreniere).

If Lafreniere is out it's a real possibility Canada finishes last in their division, as they currently sit last with the tie breaks. Would they be relegated next year in this case? Just curious.
Sure, there is no special confederation for Canada. They have a win though , and if they win out they will be first place.

Canada is the host of next year's tournament so they wouldn't actually be relegated even if they finished last in the tournament.
That is actually incorrect. When Finland was in danger of being in the relegation round in 2015 Rene Fasel addressed this and said that the host is not safe from relegation in the Junior tournament. The rule book specifies that a men's team automatically gets in as host, but not the junior team.

Canada won gold like 2 years ago. Canada also went through a stretch in the late 90s early 2000's where they were consistently failing to win. I know people like to make broad and sweeping judgement of programs based off a small amount of data but this stuff is cyclical and it has been proven that it is.

Won gold, had a silver and then last year yeah they finished brutally and ended 6th. Unlucky matchup in the quarters though. No they havent won 5 golds in a row lately but like you said there is ups and downs for sure.
