I've never been a Gustavsson fan, so I like this. Sogaard is clearly the goalie of the future here and the team is obviously very serious about making a push next year - Talbot helps solidify the net right now.

They'll likely be splitting starts. Maybe a 45/35 or 50/30 split.

I really like this move for both teams - Gustavsson has clearly been overtaken by Sogaard in the org and was likely waiver fodder next season anyway. Talbot and Forsberg is a pretty good 1A/1B situation.

Minnesota moved Kakko Kahkonen to San Jose recently and needed another young NHL-ready goalie and was willing to take the risk with Gus.
Win-Win trade.

I am glad others like this trade but I was pretty satisfied with a Forsberg/Gustavsson tandem to start the season.

If you look at it like the Sens are investing towards taking that next step. Goal tending can't be the reason why they can't. Takes some risk away .. I understand it and I don't mind it. Sogaard is a really good prospect.

Said it in the other thread, but I'm fine with the move. Provides security behind/alongside Forsberg - security that should actually stay healthy.

I am ok with this.. I like Gus but he is very inconsistent. Now we have a 1A-1B tandem I like it!

I think this is smart. I like Gus and wanted him to have a shot, but this team is clearly looking to start competing this year, so I don't have a problem with it. I have always liked Talbot too.

Simply put Forsberg/Talbot gives us the best chance of making the playoffs.
