Yeah, they're sick of rebuilds and in such a bad situation that a rebuild is the only answer.

Another rebuild and the franchise is gone. Fans will not return. It may already be gone.

How impactful is Tuch to the Sabres when they are the worst team in the conference?

Impactful enough that playoff teams want him.

Instead of buffalo fans just saying that he's not available or they don't want prospects, how about entertain the thread and post what the sabres want if tuch was traded. RD, center?
Sabres fans have said it. Over and over.

Tuch is likely part of a package that gets us either a RD that can actually defend and play 20+ minutes or a legit two-way center.

Being specific with Tampa Bay -- the only piece that interests Buffalo that doesn't have a NTC/NMC or anything like that is Cirelli. That's it. That's the list. I'm not saying Cernak because he has a full NTC and he ain't coming here.

I understand, but what's the alternative? Hockey trade their way out of this mess? Not a lot of GMs would be capable of turning the Sabres into a playoff team.

That doesn't mean I think they should take TB's offer. It just means the situation looks kind of doomed.

The situation is very bleak..And yes..they need to hockey trade their way out of this mess. It sure doesn't mean that they should send out their best players for more prospects when they are under contract.

And honestly they shouldn't be doing anything except selling UFAs until Adams is out.

So they should wait till Tuch is a UFA next year and sell him for a lesser haul?

Established players like Tuch? I think it's magical thinking that a futures based return for Tuch can be flipped to bring in a more impactful vet than Tuch himself.

Why do you think it just has to be specific futures, prospects, or anything of the sort? Why can’t it be a combination? Maybe current players on the team as well?

You want to know what’s funny? People that think anyone within this Sabres organization is untouchable. That’s funny. I guess they are blinded by all the success this team has been having over the past decade and a half.

So wait....Geekie is so good so good but yeah we will trade him? If he's so good cool ride him out because Cirelli is the only name that brings me to the table.

Then again our GM is an idiot who actually kinda looks like an idiot too so anything can happen

You know what else is funny? Creating strawmen .. Nobody has said Tuch is untouchable

Tampa players have always been lowkey dirty and dicks over the past couple years. Now their fans get their chance to chime in and do the same. Can't even chirp it because the playoffs arent in in plans this year. So gotta let them talk away

I've only ever heard of Kuch being dirty. Who are the others?

And he’s not untouchable in a prospect package either. Whether it be TB or whoever. I don’t care who the player is the Sabres are trading. Get the best possible value you can. Other trades can be made. You just aren’t stuck with what you receive. Anything can be flipped. The Sabres could keep prospects retained in a Tuch trade and turn around this off season and jettison any of Power, Paterka, Quinn, Cozens, Byram, Benson, Kulich……and start to seriously remake the roster.

Again, if Tuch is being traded get the absolute best value you can, whether that’s picks, prospects, roster players or a combination. Doesn’t matter. Get the best possible value.

If they want to get the return they have repeatedly stated that they want…they should trade him this summer when more teams will be interested and more players that can play now will be available.

Or

They could try to do what they never do…and build a real team around their good players and see if they can get out of the basement which would solve several problems

Or

They can try to re-sign him and have a good player they don’t need to replace regardless of what happens

Or

If those all fall through…they can wait until the deadline if they’re out of it for the fifteenth year in a row.

Only the last one is worse than taking best offer now…when you don’t have to…and teams want to give you futures you don’t want and honestly can’t accept and try to sell to anyone in year 14 of a drought

People need to stop looking at this from the perspective of what

A. They want for their team
Or
B. What a team that isn’t on a 14 year playoff drought with a cheap owner, an abundance of futures and an inability to acquire NHL players would do.

Because neither has f*** all to do with what Buffalo should do.

they said hey, well get back to you when we have reviewed other offers. how obtuse are you.
Except you’re making that up completely.

You’ve taken a report that a team wants something and decided on a narrative where they submitted an offer that is being considered by a team who has made abundantly clear what it would cost for a player they have zero reason to move. And even though you know your fictional offer doesn’t fill that…you’ve chosen to believe it has a chance…for a player that isn’t a UFA and they both would have to replace AND don’t have to move

That’s what you’ve done

In a thread based on a different bullshit assumption by someone creating their own fictional narrative

A copy or a copy of bullshit

This entire f***ing thread titled Tuch’s Availability is based on something that has nothing to do with Tuch’s f***ing availability and features people who don’t know what they’re talking about outright ignoring every single thing people who do have repeatedly told them or shown them with actual quotes.

Speculation from outside doesn’t beat quotes from inside

Sorry

This is what I responded to:

"Actually, there could be sense in moving Tuch. Even if it is for futures.

The Sabres aren’t going anywhere this season. They could use prospects and draft picks this off-season to bring in established players."

Bolded is simply a straw man. Not wanting to trade Tuch for futures is not the same as thinking all Sabre players are untouchable. Most of us have a long list of players we'd love to trade. A common theme in many of those trade proposals is that we're trading younger roster players or prospects for established vets. Why? Because many here believe there is a dearth of quality of vets to perform mentoring roles. So trading Tuch - a quality vet - seems to run counter to the idea of fielding a more experienced team next year. Add in the historical difficulty in attracting or trading for vets, and well, it just seems like a bad idea.

There is such a basic bottom line on this that people are choosing to ignore.

Tuch will not be traded unless it is for a proven player or players that improves the Buffalo Sabres going forward.

Not the picks and prospects to trade for those players…because Buffalo can’t get them no matter how many f***ing picks and prospects they have. They don’t exist in the same f***ing league as the team you root for. They just don’t.

So you’ll say…well teams aren’t moving those types of players at the deadline.

Great. End of discussion. He’s not moving then. BECAUSE HE HAS A CONTRACT NEXT YEAR AND THEY DONT HAVE TO MOVE HIM NOW.

I’m sorry it’s not a video game. I’m sorry you can’t just get what you want. And I’m really sorry that you are utterly incapable of understanding the simplest concepts
