The only real scenario makes sense with Tuch is if Adams spoke to his agent about starting a dialogue about an extension and was told in no uncertain terms that Tuch had no interest is extending there.

The potential embarrassment of it getting out that even a guy who grew up locally and as a Sabres fan not wanting to sign in Buffalo would probably make them want him gone sooner rather than later.

In a vacuum though, them moving Tuch makes no sense. They can't keep bleeding every good vet they have.

Cool, and maybe GM's can change their minds or a third team could be involved.

I don't need to report to you about a third team, I'm relaying to the board what NHL insiders are reporting on. The asshat attitude isn't deserved or appreciated. I haven't even suggested that the Lightning should trade for him.

If there was a team that wanted good prospects instead of their good player why wouldn't Buffalo just use some of their good prospects? That way they'd have what they really wanted all along: Tuch & Another good player.

If an NHL insider mentioned it, and it was posted here, I'd take it seriously and not be upset about it.

Sorry about you being laid off.

I don't imagine it would be easy to do, thus why I'm simply bringing it up and not taking the bait of discussing which teams that could work with. Way too complex, and I'm not here to negotiate a trade.

Not taking the bait of discussing; something you brought up, on a DISCUSSION board. Something from you smells, and not like chum.

I'm sure that could happen, but that assumes that prospects are interchangeable. Some teams have prospects that other teams covet.

Hopefully this topic doesn't get locked because some people refuse to close their eyes and cover their ears

I have no doubt people call and if Adams is smart he would listen. Overpay and maybe...

You are not getting a prospect half as good as Geekie for a rental. This is your only chance to get anything more than a late first
When did rentals become players with term left?

You're a liar, this is what you said, anyone is more than welcome to follow the thread and decide for themselves. Should be a quick conclusion

Huh. Well, that confirms my suspicion that this has all been discussed before in all its particulars previously and nothing has changed in the intervening month to actually deserve a new thread and a new "no seriously guys this is totally news!" treatment.

I’d imagine it starts and ends with Cernak or Cirelli from Tampa.
It's gonna have to come from a 3rd team willing to take prospects. I understand Buffalo's desire for a roster player but no team in the NHL has suffered more at the hands of the flat cap than the Lightning.

In the past 3 years we have lost

Stamkos, Palat, Johnson, Killorn, Gourde, Goodrow, Coleman, Colton, Raddysh, Maroon, Bellemare, Perry, Savard, Sergachev, Cole, Bogosian, Rutta and perhaps most infamously, Jeannot, Duclair and Dumba

That's basically a whole team and most other fans just laugh about it

Some of the names on the list we traded for. Others we lost for nothing. But no one cares about the draft picks and propsects we gave up. But great talent for cheap was the ONLY thing that got us where we did.

At some point you have to ask "Where do the Lightning losses end?"

Again. Adams needs to find a 3rd team to make his demands work then because he's going to get fired if he does nothing

None of Tampa's prospects strike me as particularly singular. Howard and Geeikie are valuable, but they're not A+ assets.

What?! How is he not

He is a good prospect...Jiri Kulich who was taken in same draft has had a much better development path up to this point than Geekie and he isn't a blue chip either... and I would have traded him for a rental.

I think you have too easy a determination for a blue chip.

That's not how it works, our owner doesn't fire GMs for bad results, he doesn't care, he fired the last two GMs for not agreeing with him. But Adams on the other hand talks to Pegula every day and always says "Yes". So I'm not sure he'll be fired.

If another team was willing to trade a roster player for prospects, wouldn’t they prefer Buffalos?
Yeah, that's what makes me roll my eyes at this "no totally a third team is viable" idea. I can't see any scenario in which a hypothetical third team that meets these requirements for Tampa both exists and yet has no reason or desire to just cut out the middleman and deal directly with Buffalo. It's not as though Buffalo hasn't spent the last couple years desperately searching for exactly an opportunity like that...

Perhaps some people would actually frame it in the way that it’s presented, which is the teams want him not that he’s being shopped. Big difference difference but hey, that sort of nuance seems to get lost on people.
