Everyone acts like three team trades don't happen. Unlike a lot of the crap we see posted on the trade forums, this is a scenario that would actually make sense to get a third team involved.

Also, this is the second insider who has come out and said that the Lightning, and other teams are interested. Unless the Buffalo GM comes out and explicitly says he's not available, rumors should justifiably swirl.
Interest is not availability.

Our GM trades for players whether they are available or not
Well, I imagine if y'all want to do another Tanner Jeannot style ludicrous overpay that makes the entire NHL go "holy hell, WTF", maybe Adams will listen to you. I have noticed a Sabres fan or two mention Cirelli+, for example.

So his tweet has nothing to do with Tuchs availability..correct?

I think his tweet shows that he isn't unavailable, while at the same time not actively being shopped

We didn't give players off our roster for Jeannot

Buffalo has no need for an overpayment in the form of picks and prospects.

They need NHL talent and skill. That’s currently producing.

Thus a third team potentially being involved. Wouldn't be too difficult to facilitate

No one is making this shit up

Well in the case of Tuch, it sounds like you might have to.

Tell you what. You go out and find that third party that's willing to give away quality veteran NHL skill off their roster for futures while you get the highly desirable asset, then go try and bring Buffalo back into the loop without running into that team and Buffalo ultimately deciding they have no use for the middleman.

Maybe 5% of NHL players are unavailable....

Any player on Buffalo is available outside of Dahlin. So unless TB GM wants to make an offer that Adams simply can't refuse then their is no indication that he is available for futures or anything reasonable.

What a idiotic comment, I'm not a GM who can come back to you with an offer after looping in another team

Adams himself has said they aren't looking for prospects. We aren't making this up out of thin air.
Then wait until the offseason to make hockey trades. You don't always have to answer every thread with high levels of angst just because there is speculation out there. We all get it. Pegula is easily one of the worst owners in the NHL.

My only point was to say that Kevyn Adams HAS to listen to every offer that comes in, because that's his job. And at some point he will eventually sell off players for whatever he can get before they reach UFA. It's just a matter of whether other teams will bring any offers to that level or just wait until a player's walk year.

No, but you are a HFBoards poster on TR&FA who can probably find a second fanbase to do this dance with, if you truly are interested in discussion.

Before you ask, that'll be a no from the Jackets. ;)

I am a simple poster pointing out that a third team could be involved to make a deal. Something as complex and arbitrary as talking to a third fanbase and negotiating terms everyone can agree with on a message board is just unnecessary and weird. A simple "yeah a third team could get involved" is really all you need to agree to, I don't need to prove that it could happen by negotiating with random posters.

Well, maybe just for a hockey deal, although I doubt Tuch will go anywhere until at least the summer.

"They prefer to keep him, unless a team is willing to overpay."

Guess that means you'd best get to overpaying. Buffalo's already evidently said they won't do futures, so you're going to have to overpay with roster assets somehow. Good luck!

I'm saying that unless you can point out good examples of teams that could and/or would plausibly serve as such a third party, in a manner such that they and Buffalo wouldn't be better off cutting Tampa Bay out of the deal entirely, all you're offering is empty thirsty words of "WAHHHH BUT I WANT IT".

95% of NHL players aren't being actively sought after in a trade bubba
Many NHL players end up actively sought after in trades. On rare occasions they even actually get traded.

The only difference between Tuch and someone like Cirelli w/r/t the number of calls they get is that folks don't care enough to give Buffalo any respect with regards to determining what players of theirs are high priorities that should be kept despite high demand for that player type on the market.

How does this make any sense?
The Sabres do not need to deal him. He is not a UFA. He is under contract one more year. He is on a sweetheart deal. He plays in our top 6. Unless you are giving back a player that fulfills that role NOW, not a prospect who might in 2 years, there is zero incentive to move him at this deadline. And his current salary fits in Pegulas efficient econonomical bs mantra.
