Here comes Skinner
The defending-champs sorely need more from their backend. Could they put together a package to get him?
I think our back end is pretty crowded and cams contract ends before our big names need new contracts…. So I don’t think we’d be against retention.Maybe, but that's not the real point. Picture in your mind what you think Fowler's cap hit is, then look at what his actual cap hit is, then look at Florida's cap space, and then find the cap room.
There isn't a lot of dead weight on that Florida roster to send the other way. Maybe at the deadline, IF, and that's a big IF, Anaheim wants to retain at 50 percent for this year AND next year. Anaheim hasn't seemed interested in retention in trades. So you might be looking at getting another team involved to retain, which makes the overall price even steeper... not impossible, but not likely.
Can Fowler play the right side at least decently?
As for compensation, idk. Maybe 2027 2nd plus a prospect? I don't want to deal away all our 25 and 26 picks .
I wouldn't give a first unless Fowler comes with heavy retention.Florida has maybe a first round pick in 2038. Does that work?
Wouldn't mind this move, but not sure how to make it work cap wise and value going back to the Ducks without hurting Florida's current chances.
I wouldn't give a first unless Fowler comes with heavy retention.
At this point I’d rather see helleson.Didn’t look at the proposal but deal, I’ll take it.
He did that some last year. Probably not his best use though.
I'm pretty sure another contender could/would beat a 2nd rounder three drafts from now for a good 2nd pairing dman with deep playoff experience for two playoff runs, and I don't see a prospect that's interesting enough to make waiting on that pick worthwhile.
If that's all that anyone offers, they can keep him another year and get that at the next TDL.
A pick and a prospect might be more appropriate for Dumoulin this year, but even then I doubt they're willing to wait 3 years for it.
Oh just a joke on the lack of 25/26 picks lol.
Only way I could see Fowler and his 6.5mil cap hit coming is 50% min retention and possibly a 3rd team to knock it down more.
And at that point, it just becomes unlikely.
Florida will definitely target some defensemen by the TDL, but probably guys on expiring and or smaller cap hits.
As mentioned above, Dumoulin will be a good rental target near the deadline, he's providing the Ducks with pretty steady minutes. Probably an easier deal to navigate
Panthers need more of a pmd though.
Same.At this point I’d rather see helleson.
Run with
Mintyukov gudas
Dumo zellweger
Lacombe helleson Vaaks
Call up luneau + hinds if injuries occur
And a PP QB, Balinskis ain't it.
Could get him cheaply deadline timeIdeally it would be the same, but that will be hard to find at the deadline. They might be have to think outside the box and target some top 4 ppqb, maybe on a bad contract with term, on a bad/middling team . I still think they should have signed Barrie in the off-season. He's bottom pairing, but you know he can run a pp. Plus a RD.
Gracyn Sawchyn? He's a smallish yet speedster type with hands. He was over ppg in the WHL last year in D +1, and has 24 pts in 18 games in Edmonton this year.
