Calling It Now Tampa is A Serious Threat Again Nashville Has Screwed Themselves and These Facts Are Not Unrelated

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I just saw that Jonas Johansson is their backup, their GM has to be up there as one of the worst in the league for employing that guy on an NHL roster.

Surely you can't believe that is the only reason he went down - I happen to see a certain #86 launching himself at Connor from behind, you must have missed it

Please, spare me the dramatics.

If he doesn't bang heads with Cernak then he just gets knocked down on his knees and thats the end of it.

I was giving an honest response regarding a team thats window is closed, if you are trying to throw shade, using the event that caused Florida's change from laughing stock to the best team in the league is probably not the best example.

God bless whoever gave Huberdeau that lappy and got him exiled
I'm just saying that's a lot of trash talking about an imaginary future playoff win against your in state rival when your team has only one playoff series victory against them in their entire history. I use the term rival loosely because the Panthers have been almost completely irrelevant to Tampa for a few decades up until just a few years ago.

To be fair, outside of a decade of their existence, Tampa has been pretty irrelevant to most teams in the league.

Didn't exist for some of it, not relevant in the rest of it. Not sure your point.
My point was related to your original point about what team is relevant to some other team. Tampa has a better history than the Panthers, but they've missed the playoffs as many times as they qualified for them. Honestly, we've only met 3 times in the playoffs. Y'all have the better of those 2 to 1, but the regular season matchup goes to the Cats, but it's close.

It is what it is.

You get to play in relative obscurity; both Florida teams are good; and there's no state taxes. It's an enormous competitive advantage for free agents and it will propel Tampa and Florida to the top of the standings for many years.
Sounds like sour grapes. You still have to choose the right players and put them in position to succeed.

If it was as simple as you say then why did Florida only recently win their first playoff round since the 90s? Why didn’t Toronto and New York dominate the pre-cap era?

yes the end of a shitty dirty hit from behind that 1000% is a penalty.

and a cheap goon job.

but yes that would have been the end of it.

It is crazy that people were saying the Nurse contract was worse than the Stamkos deal a month ago.

Bizarre.
