It’s literally not like that at all lol. Valimaki for Tomasino and then Monahan for Grimaldi? If Nashville had a need for D prospects this would be a fair value trade. It’s legit an A level prospect swap and then Calgary giving up a better player to make up the difference

Except we don’t need defensive prospects so it’s more a 3rd pairing dman and 3C for our best forward prospect. It doesn’t fill our need (actually counter to them). Needs of the teams play a big part in perceived value

Adding 6.3 to your third-line center isn't good cap management

If we can split it like that, I'll take the Grimaldi-for-Monahan deal, and pass on the other one.
