lol yeah i agree and bringing up a the how long it took to get a cup Seriously i doubt this poster was alive the last time they won in 1989 If anyone has last years record against them please post it i know we won the series i m just not sure if it was a sweep or not

is this serious? The flames were the second best team in the league for most of the late 80's early 90's. they then went through a rebuild and had a strong team from 04 through to about three seasons ago.
hate to break it to you but the kings history (minus the last five year) has been god awful for the most part.
I think winning has gone to your head.
hate to be "that guy" but your post makes kings fans look bad

the thread on the main board turning into a pissing match. Where both sides (me on the kings side ) said a lot of things. I would read it then come back and judge. His post was just more of a reaction to it. Same with mine.

View my post however you want. I'm sick of the obnoxious Flames fans constantly coming into our threads and talking crap. They keep getting their posts deleted so all you see is my angry reaction.

Doc is correct Perro. A few bad Flames fans have been real Richards this year.
 
I have loved the long time rivalry with these two teams. Whenever I wanted a quick shot of hateful rage piss n vinegar I'd just mark the calendar for a Calgary game in the 80's/90's era. Harken back to the Webster vs Dougie Gilmore days or Webster chucking the stick at Hoggarth. (Yes he did it twice!!) or the penalty laden game that became one of rthe most penalized games ever in Kings history. Yes there is a lot of Hate/Love with these two. Its a very Dodgers/Giants kinda love hate.

Yeah, I don't get this either. Anytime I ever see a Flames Gnome Avatar I get the creeps and start wondering what god-forsaken thing they will write next.

Lotta people in this thread forgetting how our posters and threads looked in 2010. That's basically the flames right now.

Not saying that's good or I agree with it, and I'm sick of them pumping up my ****ing workload around here, but keep in mind they're the new kid on the playoff block and are seeking legitimacy just as we were. Remember the temper tantrums when the Canucks kept writing us off?

Coming to our board to seek validation is for sure the wrong way to go about it, but keep a sense of perspective...

Yes! I think a lot of fans on both sides may not have been around long enough to hockey for this though. Met a lot of very passionate Calgary fans when I was much younger, they actually let me know how into this sport people can be.

No imagination at all when they moved from Atlanta.

Atlanta had this great logo and of course "Flames" refers back to the civil war when much of the city was burned to the ground, first by Yankees and then by Confederates when they left.

So, Calgary gets the team and is too lazy to change either the name or the concept, going with a poorly-designed "C" on fire. Fire (or Flames) have not connection to the city of Calgary that I know of.

It's like moving the Lakers to Los Angeles or the Jazz to Utah. The team name does not have a connection to the city. At least with the Kings (the only expansion team in Los Angeles), the name is an original, albeit not historically related.

ya the reebok re-brand was not kind to a lot of teams. Most have realized their mistakes. flames are sticking with it.
I hate their current third jerseys as well.
 
Please please please, McNabb, im looking at you. Please turn Johnny hockey into Johnny roadkill. That will be all.
 
omg cant wait to see the yellow and purples tonight, my two fav. kings Dionne and Simmer wore those. Im a wings fans who lives in Calgary so i would usually cheer for the flames but between these jerseys and doing the wings a solid beating tampa im just cheering for a great game, GL
 
We sparked their winning streak in December. Would love to spark a losing streak for them tonight.
 
Dont let some flames fans turn you off, most of the flames fans were cheering for the kings to win the cup because of Darryl and Reggie and like the style the kings play.
