Cale Makar- is there concerns that he is " injury prone"

Makar is often keyed on player that opposing teams target and aware of. What is normally a normal player, coaches will encourage their players "finish your hits when you see him on the ice" type of mentality.

Hughes gets banged up badly from time to time but he still stays healthy. I think avoiding injuries is also something that should be taken into account when talking about quality of a player. Sedins also had that iron man quality

Is that what you assume? Why would Canucks fans care about Makar when we have Hughes who won the Norris and already proved to Avs fans that he is Norris caliber. Now we dont even care about discussion of Makar vs. Hughes.

I mean sans injuries he probably has 3 Norris' by now, but I wouldn't call him injury prone.

Of course they aRE. But Makar lost the 21 Norris by less than 10% of the vote, if he plays the full year he easily wins it. & in 2023, missing 22 games definitely cost him it, he was by the east defensemen that year.

He logs a lot of minutes and goes balls out. I don't know if I would use the term "Injury prone" yet as he puts himself in a lot of situations to create plays. That's not easy on the body.
