Calder Watch : 2024-25 Season

Celebrini is leagues ahead of Thornton at the same age and when we are talking about Celebrini’s caliber, we are talking about his sky high potential.

Will Smith with 4 points and Celebrini with 5 points. Absolutely bonkers.
You should’ve said that then. Calibre doesn’t mean potential.

Not every player develops the same lol. Typically the big guys take longer and a completely different era. Silly.
Ofc Leo is going to be better than Celebrini right? Just needs time? And he isn’t that small. 5’11 3/4 with no shoes. Not big but he isn’t 5’9 or something.

…..relax dude. I was commenting on you comparing Celebrini to Joe Thornton. You can go through every post I’ve made and you won’t find any Celebrini hate.

I didn’t call him small. Joe Thornton was significantly bigger and bigger players take longer to develop. Nowhere did I insult Celebrini.

Maybe for someone that watches 10 shark games a decade.

Many of us have been around and seen everything, what he's saying isn't wrong

...I've been watching hockey for almost 50 years and have seen hundreds of Sharks games, so the "I've seen it all" doesn't really work...Celebrini is a phenomenal kid, but to already annoint him ahead of 3 Hall of Famers is a ridiculous take...period...it's like the few Habs fans here already annointing Hutson over guys like Chelios...

i don't think it's that crazy to say that Celebrini has the potential to break Thornton's franchise records tbh.

...he certainly has POTENTIAL, but it's far too early to crown him "The Greatest San Jose Shark Ever"...that's a bit much...

Michkov with another stinker tonight:

1 point, -1, and 2 giveaways in an 8-5 win. Just terrible. I guess Torts wasn’t the problem after all.

Meanwhile, Celebrini with a 5 point night to firmly take hold of 2nd place. Amazing performance tonight.

I’d have Michkov below Wolf at this point as well in terms of positive impact. The other rookies are leaving Michkov in their dust at this point. Not surprising; he looks slow, tired, and frustrated out there lately.
