Crucial game against the Panther. Behind 2-1 with less than 10 seconds to go. Massive effort to keep the puck inside the Panther zone and a couple of seconds later Suzuki scored the tying goals. Habs win 3-2 and Hutson got all 3 assists. If Hutson don't win the Calder, it would be highway robbery.

Lane is now second all-time for assists as a rookie defensemen. He's 3 apples away from the record that was set in the highest scoring era of hockey, on team with 3 100+ scorers.

He will also very likely set a new record for points by a Habs defensemen. Yes, it's a team record, but for the sport's most storied team, those records matter.

Lots of rookies are having great seasons, but you have to give it to the historically great one.

I think its time that the main board accept that Hutson is a young goat like a Makar or Quinn Hughes. Just like everyone should accept that Matthews is one of the best goal scorer ever (having a down year) even tough Leafs fan can be annoying about it

It's not just the assist record he'll probably break. He now has 37 ES points. I know, i know, he's just a powerplay specialist and secondary assist merchant, but he's just 3 ES points away from Murphy's other record.

It took years for people to admit Hughes wasn't terrible defensively, and it will take years for HF to admit it with Hutson.
