There’s been plenty of conversation on Andersson to MTL, you can look it up in other post

The suggested assets from Montreal are not enough for Andersson alone, let alone adding a nice player in Pospisil and a 2nd

My thinking was that Calgary receives 2 expiring contracts with the potential of late draft picks if they can move them at the trade deadline . Plus Andersson/Pospisil salaries, Calgary would be in good shape for free agents in '25. Barron could develop into a possible 2nd pairing defenceman.

I think Andersson would be such a good fit for Montreal but I doubt Calgary wants to him and if they do, that offer is not nearly enough. It’s comical at best

Andersson to Habs make a lot of sense for Mtl but only make sense for Calgary if they decide to rebuild, as Habs only have picks and prospects/young players to trade.

Also it would have to be a deal happening during the summer, when Habs can extend Andersson.

I would do :

Habs 2026 1st (top 3 protected)
Logan Mailloux
Alex Newhook

For Andersson extended.

Pospisil I like also and is a need for Habs but I don’t know what his value could be. Maybe Joshua Roy + 3rd?

dvorak, mailloux, barron, and xhekaj dont have the value habs fans think they do.
Nobody thinks Dvorak has any value. Right now he is a cap dump.

Barron is and will always be 6/7 dman.

Ditto for Xhekaj but he brings a much needed physicality dimension to a team like Habs.

Mailloux is pretty solid offensive prospect with size but also can’t figure out the defensive part of the game. Will probably end up being being a no.5 with PP time. Outside chance of being a no.4 if his defensive game evolve.

agree with most of these but i think mailloux is a sure fire top 4 dman. i think his off-ice issues bring down his value.

Anderson to the Habs makes no sense at all.

Half his value is him being so underpaid especially with retention.

That's useless to Montreal, they aren't a cap team or going all in for the next two years

Cal: Andersson, Pospisil & 2nd('25)
Mtl: 1st(Cal/Fld), Barron, Dvorak & Pezzetta

Calgary could certainly get a better offer than this and it would be pointless for Montreal to surrender a first round pick for a season and a half of Andersson because they are unlikely to have the budget to sign him when he's free agency.

Cap space isn’t really an issue for Calgary right now.

The biggest issue with your proposal is that the only piece with much value is the 1st round pick. Barron could still develop, but he’s having trouble breaking into a weak Habs d corps as it is. Dvorak and Pezzetta have no value really.

Andersson has a whole lot more value than that, let alone adding on Pospisil

I agree. Habs fans need to forget about R Anderson! He’s going to a contender at the TDL

You're going to have to do a lot better than that. Not even close honestly.
It's probably too much for a player that can't be extended yet. Of course he would be worth more if he could be.

It’s because you’re a homer.

They will get way better offers in the summer.
No it isn't. Ypur offer is far too much for HuGo to give up at this point in time.
