If he doesn't get traded, why doesn't he go to Ottawa U join the Gee-Gees? They should have a decent team this year with lots of ex CHL players....

Because he's gonna play, what, 25 games?

Well, he'd have to be traded to these teams first, no?
yes, but he's demanding a trade to only Ottawa, when this option is available elsewhere. It is not like the demand was trade me so I can attend school in french, it was trade me to this specific team so I can attend school in french.

Did really request a trade ONLY to Ottawa?
Or is it an educated speculation?

I can't read french, so I'll trust Marc the Habs Fan interpretation.

Those tweets say that his family doesn't want him to be offered around the OHL, he wants to return to his home in Ottawa, his brother is at the 67s camp, he "lived through hell in Flint last year", he'd like to pursue his post-secondary studies in french and he would like to be a leader on the 67s.

They do not say that he is refusing the possibility of going to a team other than Ottawa. So if that's what your basing your criticism of Bitten on then you should probably reconsider. It seems you take exception to him supposedly demanding a trade for educational reasons. There is literally nothing in those tweets saying that is the case, only that he wants his secondary education to be in french(not even specifically in Ottawa). You should probably ask for a full translation of things before jumping to conclusions.

That's not what he's saying. He's just saying he doubts that "educational reasons" are the actual motivation behind the trade request. I happen to agree.

I agree. I think Bitten wants to get out of the Flint disaster and would like to return home. But that poster's previous posts have placed a huge emphasis on the education aspect which in those tweets is (word for word translation): "He would also like to pursue his post-secondary studies in French." That's it. It's not in any way given as the main motivation for Bitten wanting to leave Flint.

What I'm saying is I think the educational claim is a sham. No criticism, he's free to try to use whatever leverage he has. But I doubt he'll be accepting a trade to Sudbury, even if he can take classes in French there.

And what I'm saying is that the educational claim is imaginary since those tweets do not give it as his reason. So unless there's another source for it then you should probably move on from criticizing him for it.

Fair enough, folks.
The tweets from Jean Francois Plante are somewhat contradictory, in a way. First says "wants to go", the other says "would like to go".

If it wasn't a reason, why is it even leaked to the reporter in the first place. It sounds like spin to dictate why he wants to go back to Ottawa and give it legitimacy. It was a randomly added part, it was part of a briefing either given by Bitten's parents, Bitten or his agent.

You're free to create whatever narrative you want about his reasons. I am only trying to provide a correct translation. The correct translation is not "school is a major reason behind him wanting to move."

Okay, fair enough. It's "out there" that the Bittens were claiming that the reason for the trade was so he could take French language university courses. However, technically, there's been nothing "official" in that regard.

In any event, who cares what reason they're giving? His dad said last spring that if the ownership remained the same, he wanted to be moved. Who can blame them.

Hopefully this fiasco will end shortly.

Bitten is fully justified in not wanting to return to Flint. It's also become very clear that none of the "desirables" are interested in reporting to Flint as a return on the trade, so they're not going to get full value for Bitten.

He needs to get back to playing and the team itself needs to move on from him and focus on righting the ship.

Hopefully this gets sorted out soon. It's already carried on way too long.

He was sent down, bit surprising considering he doesn't have a team to report to. Maybe something is on the way.

Interesting move. Would of thought he was more likely to end up at one of the power houses like Windsor or London (granted London has a lot to wait out, particularly the Roslovic situation). Hamilton should be interesting.

Apparently, Ottawa and Windsor came up with better offers. Hard to know exactly why Bitten ended up with Hamilton. Fear of intra-division (for Windsor)? NFC's (No-Flint-Clause) for players going Flint's way? Pissed up Flint management?

The NFC as you call it killed several deals it seems, Knights were also interested: http://www.lapresse.ca/le-droit/spo...ogs.php?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

This guy demanded a trade so he could speak more french?
Genius
RDS will love him
Doubt he'll be speaking much French in Hamilton. Granted since he's such a great student maybe he's pre-med at Mac......

Realistically, it was a decent claim to try to spin why he wanted to go to Ottawa, finally reality set in and he had to move on with his career. Anything was better than Flint. But I doubt he would of gone to Sudbury, even if he could of taken French couses at Laurentian, as that Franchise is #2 on the mess scale among OHL franchises. Hamilton should be interesting, could be big boon for Matthew Strome who has had a decent start to the year. Not surprised a trade was hard to workout, I don't see many parents enthused with there kid going to Flint, even if it meant more ice-time.
