Yes. He got 3 points in 5 games.Did Khusnutdinov play on the Hlinka/Gretzky?

I mean I don't have him ranked much further back. I think realistically we could get him much further back but he is a top 15 talent.Would it be crazy if the Hawks took him 9th?
Yes he was. 58th overall.
Khusnutdinov is very young for his draft year and improved quite a bit as the year went on. His defensive ability, work-ethic, and passing are extremely impressive for his age. His numbers aren't great, but context matters here; he got little PP time, especially in the beginning of the year, doesn't get prime playing time, and got 23 pts in his last 19 games.
Even so, a Pageau type player would still be a great pick in the mid-late 1st and a steal outside of there. And I think his ceiling is higher than that.
I agree, but I think he could also become a better player than Pageau. Think a real solid 2C. That's why I have him in my 1st round. Thanks - missed the ranking.
And if he turns into Pageau, totally agree. It's just that is 'upside' not relative to risk. Not too many small Russian centers end up being your checking line center, mostly because they can typically get a decent contract back home in the top 6 in their 20's, versus put a few years in the AHL. But it could happen. Looks like a nice player for sure.
Doesn't he lack some magic in his hands and legs to become solid 2C while being so small?I agree, but I think he could also become a better player than Pageau. Think a real solid 2C. That's why I have him in my 1st round.
Do any of our Russian posters think that Marat is something special?
His skating is definitely special.
That's definitely his best asset. But do you see him as an exceptional talent overall? What role do you think he'll play, for example, in the russian national teams going forward?
I've seen him listed 5'11" at some places. Regardless, he's basically Brayden Point's size so I wouldn't call it a deterrent.Exceptional is someone like Svechnikov and here I don't see it. I like his skating, it is among the top of the draft for sure, also he is very good with the puck and works hard and plays a two-way game. But I also have my concerns about him, for example, he is a small center, which makes it harder, although he is not weak. Also so far I don't have an impression of his game as having enough structure, I'm not sure it will work that good outside of the junior level.

NHL Central Scouting has Khusnutdinov listed at 5'11" and 176 lbs. Your report says he's 5'9" and 165 lbs. That's an important difference.Full report on Khusnutdinov:

I don't buy 5'11 at all.NHL Central Scouting has Khusnutdinov listed at 5'11" and 176 lbs. Your report says he's 5'9" and 165 lbs. That's an important difference.
It's my understanding that they actually measure heights and weights as part of their service to NHL teams. Looking through their heights and weights over the years, they are usually very close to the combine measurements. I think I'd trust their information unless someone can show persuasive evidence that contradicts.I don't buy 5'11 at all.
Totally fell in love with this prospect, he’s so dynamic, fluid, he’s got that second gear even tho he’s on the small side! Oh man i hope he could be a 2nd round pick for Montreal!
Does anyone have any data on him playing on North American ice? Does it affect his scoring?
Even if he went late in the 1st, I'd consider him a steal. If he isn't picked in the 1st I think he'll be the steal of the draft.
Maybe past the 25th pick or so. I'm not sure he has the upside to be considered a steal before that.Even if he went late in the 1st, I'd consider him a steal.
If you mean the rink size, then SKA-1946 home arena uses North American sized rink.
He should. I'd love for the Hawks to do it.Yes I meant ice size. Thank you for the info. I think this only helps his case. If he interviewed well somewhere maybe he surprises the hockey world and goes in the top 10 (like Scheifele, Wheeler etc).
