Funny thing is Kulich is the furthest thing from skinny. Maybe the most jacked 20yo hockey player in the world.

Also one of the very best 20yo goal scorers in the world - showed the whole bag last night. Still Adams has indeed been right to keep slow cooking him (and in the handling of all our prospects really). He's battled through rough patches and seems to be embracing the lessons while recovering his production. I'm curious about Prospal's impact. Add in a third insane WJC, leading scorer. ELC slide is a bonus, having him sub $1M for his age 20-21-22 seasons is great.

Projecting him at age 25 is mouth-watering if he continues to round out his game. He still has a chance at an elite outcome if things break right. There's a 35-40 goal dog of a center possible even if it's not the most likely outcome. Can't trade that player without risking massive regret.
He’s definitely not the “furthest thing from skinnny” when you compare him to pro hockey players. He’s not jacked at all, that’s silly.

And he was 19 until today so he hasn’t been “slow cooked” in the slightest yet. Slow cooking would be 2-3 more years in the minors. People are already penciling him onto the team next season, which would be the opposite of slow cooked. That’s yet another impatient rush job.

I’m sick of rushing kids onto the NHL team before they’re ready. Peterka, Quinn, Mitts, Tage, Krebs, Levi, it’s absolutely bonkers.

We should take advantage of the fact that some guys were able to turn out good despite improper development by not rushing all our young guys into a spot we leave open for them. We finally have a semi competent team and pieces where we could do that now fill out the rest of the roster with some vets after the mitts departure and Okposo trade our bottom six could use a jolt with some quality vets in FA. Let savoie, kulich, Rosen, wahlberg... etc. Gel with eachother and compete with eachother for a shot at an injury call up

Players also don't need to be finished products to play in the NHL.

Quinn and Paterka ripped up the AHL in their final season and looked like rookies last year. They both had good rookie seasons. They both need to work on parts of their game but both looked like they belong this season.

Levi stayed up when he was playing well and went down when he wasn't. That's a good development phase.

Tage and Mitts could have used a full season or two in the A. Probably products of a club desperate for talent.

And Krebs, who knows but just because a player isn't hitting his potential doesn't necessarily mean that the A would have brought it out of him. Maybe folks that actually have a positive view of him will have a different opinion.

As for Kulich, I'd like to see him spend at least a half season more in Rochester but if he has a great summer and earns his spot then great.

Getting NHL ice time is part of development. We all know this and there's nothing bonkers about it.

Good time to heat up. The return of Rousek will add some fire to the offence.

Is that 5 goals in Kulich's last 2 games?

Furthest thing from a monster! He’s a human being and should stay in Rochester where he can be their leading goal scorer every year until he is an actual, literal monster. And not a moment sooner. That’s how he will earn it!

The consistent passive-aggressiveness of your posts about Kulich seem like you took it personally when it was pointed out he wasn't ready early in the year. He's put in the work, gone through a rough slump and come out looking like he not only gets it now but is doing so at center as their matchup center. That wouldn't have happened if he gets called up to the Sabres. He needed to do the work.

Get some new material.

It's not just about the players and their development -- it's also about the Sabres and them making the playoffs for once in a generation.

It's never going to hurt development to be patient with development. But it always hurts the NHL club when you rush guys up.

Hmmm I don't think I agree with that. Eventually you are promoting an unfinished product in the hope that they continue to grow at the top level. If the player has plateaued by that point, they're replacement level and not helping the big club.

If they haven't plateaued and earned a roster spot, they are making the team better short and long term presumably. So, truly what matters most is the player's impact and development at the NHL level and it certainly doesn't always or even often hurt the big club to bring up an unfinished product.

Eh we might not be that far away from each other. The term "rush" can be relative. What do you mean specifically with it?

We have so many good prospects on offense, but we also have a logjam and Adams will have to make some tough decisions, and we will need an upgrade in the bottom 6 with experienced guys who are hard to play against, obviously the kids won't fill the bottom 6, we'll see what will Kevyn do.

Personally if he’s ready in camp next year then he’s ready.

It’s ideal for us if one of Savoie or Kulich is ready to go. We can’t be breaking in 2+ rookies at a time going forward.

Competition, with him , savoie , my favorite young russian D man novikov ( hows the young power forward handling roc playoffs. , forgot his name. and all the rest.
W 7 or 8 pushing for spots on the big club , johnson and novikov will leave one trade able D w 9 ?

We may have an extra 5 th line of speedy depth that leaves whoever isn't on board w full effort , no roids thus no injuries.

That leaves at least one forward expendable. Plus that first round pick to go shopping for three fast great hockey players that will destry anyone the messes w our guys but can score 15 and make coming to key bank the most miserable degrading experience ( but not cheap ) by getting beaten at the hockey they came to play but clearly weren't ready for this version of the sabres.
Somebody said benson and savoie have the conpete to be like briere and Drury to undo the crimes of the past. We'll see. Sounds great

Somebody do the D pairings redone w Samuelson and novikov and some vicious beast better than Clifton if he's not the sixth. Anchoring the D so the three of Dahlin, byrum and power, johnson, joki. have less responsibility, can freestyle on offense and cover for forwards like skinner thompson until they figure out a balance or sit in the press box and learn( not punishment) This will also protect 6K and Levi ( bravo kevyn. And Bales) . NOT easy to draft and develop a goalie duo from scratch. Impressive and worth protecting w the LIVES of each skater on every given night. .

Lindy will communicate these essential facts to each player of how to be honorable and kill the lucic bug before scum infects the franchise again, ditch the tablets and defend each other in the MOMENT.

This alone is worth lindy as being the coach. Great asst staff to spare lindys time and who knows.
