Should be noted that effectively screening 6'8" Ivan Fedotov isn't that easy.
Does Fedotov plan on coming overseas in the next year or two? Him and Ustimenko can battle it out for the backup role to Hart.

No idea, but I think it depends on his success this and next season, he needs at least to become a starter in the KHL.

From a Jackets perspective I'm much more negative about his contract running through 2023 than I am about Marchenko 2022, Voronkov is not a top-six-or-bust guy. He will provide a key ingredient whenever he comes over, and 2023 is a long time to wait.

He needs that time though. He is slow and not much of an impact player 5 on 5 yet. And that's at the KHL level.

These kids just want to avoid AHL and playing on 70k p/y contract, I think he feels a lot better about having two more years to work on his game while being paid for it.
