I mean good for the guy, loved his hussle when he was our prospect, but its gonna burn every time i see this thread bumped, and then again when he DEVOURS the Canucks for years to come. Hope Im overreacting

Oh boy your totally overreacting since he has yet to play in the NHL. Also the ignore thread function is right there for you, I dislike Benning as much as you do, but you are totally overreacting and we traded him away, with the believe benning things Hoglander and Podkolzin will be better, just move on.

You might be overreacting just a little with how well Madden is playing in AHL preseason games... But when Brock Faber makes the big club, we’re taking away all your sharp objects!

Lines got shuffled around as Byfield returned...but Madden's first official pro assist on a sweet Kupari goal.

I know this isn't 'news' per se but the only update is that he's still out indefinitely without even a timetable to return to skate.

hoping this isn't career-threatening, that's an out-for-season injury, can really only speculate severe concussion as if it were just shoulder/upper-body they wouldn't be so nervous/mum about it. Only thing that compares was Vilardi's diagnosis.

Thought this guy was overdue for an update.

After coming back from his injury Madden had a really slow start, looked like he had stagnated a bit with the time off and was looking like a longshot...but lately he's really turned up the heat and is looking like he really fits. Part of it is chemistry with a great line--Madden-Byfield-Vilardi is a lot of skill for the AHL--but he's doing a lot more in tight spots and more quickly which he will need to transition to the nhl in a middle-six winger role. He's looking a bit stronger although he's still a total beanpole. But importantly, the production is coming along, and he's been on a heater lately with 9 goals in the last 13 games. FOr the season, he's got 11 goals and 18 points in 26 games, which is literally twice the scoring rate from his (albeit small sample size) rookie AHL shot last year.

Confidence is building and that's a good thing, he may be asked to be more of a go-to guy here soon with graduations.

Victim of a hard hit tonight.

Contact was with the head but he should have also been more aware of his surroundings too.

Still not a hit that is really justifiable as there was a hockey play to take the puck away.

Appears to have gotten his swagger back. Looked pretty tentative after his injury last year and part of this year but the spark appears to be back in his game, the confidence and assertiveness to take the puck and shoot wherever he wants has returned. Further point production should follow. It's also midseason so unlikely but he appears to have gotten a bit stronger too (maybe natural man strength or just raw experience).
