19 years old and already making the team his. this kid has the superstar gene written all over him.

Watching him play you can tell he's going to be a star.
If I were to guess I'd bet he becomes a similar player to Marner. Better or worse is up to a lot of different variables.

‘He will be a stronger player on his skates than Marner, even more explosive skater.

Tkachuk's opinion on Stutzle thus far:

3 pts so far 1 period and 8 mins in. I think Ottawa would do well to play this kid at C, he has genius awareness and playmaking abilities out there for creating danger. He is immediately dangerous and the resting out there with the puck. Teams have to try to deny him the puck

Ya... this kid is special. I do see the Marner comparison, but they’re also pretty different in terms of their strengths and weaknesses. Either way, Ottawa has a star here. Like I said before in the other thread, he’s their future captain.

Also, really surprised he’s looked much better than Lafreniere early. If anything I though Laf would have the early advantage.

NHL is a skating league. Guys who are 10/10 in the skating department (very few IMO especially as draft eligible prospects) like CSB had Stutzle coming into the draft with always dominate if they have the IQ and skill level. Laf will be very good but he is nowhere near the skater. When Stutzle gets stronger and puts on few more lbs of muscle you will see even more of that edge work digging in the corners.

He’s definitely looking much better than Lafreniere. And not like Lafreniere isn’t getting opportunities to play with good players. He killed the Panarin line and then killed the Zibanejad line. Any line he plays on, the puck ends up in their own zone for most of the shift. I was hoping Lafreniere would be dominant but he’s been horrible.

This is a Stutzle thread.

By far the best player of his draft at this point already. The team's dreadfully bad, if he was on a decent team he could be PPG+.

His skating's strong yeah, but you can't make do with just skating alone. There are plenty of 4th liners who are amazing skaters. The game requires so much more.

Incoming superstar. This trash ass disorganized and lost Ottawa team has held this kid back from taking the league by storm after his WJC performance. We are starting to see why he might be the best player to come out of that 2020 draft like many were thinking including Jim McKenzie
Who tf is Jim McKenzie?

Also why are people comparing Stutzle to Marner. Their games are nothing alike other than the fact they both have an abundance of skill.

Both dynamic, elite skating, puck controlling, playmaking wingers. Obviously not a perfect comparison but there’s only a few in the entire league. I think Stützle has that kind of upside for sure.

I just think Stutzle plays a more in your face physical game that Marner doesn’t have, but maybe I need to watch more TO games.

Agreed. But like I said, different strengths and weaknesses. Stützle is stronger and more physical but Marner is an elite penalty killer which I don’t see in Stützle. Both have high end work ethics.

You can talk bout him without taking shots at another guy, and I'll cry if I want too thanks.
I can you’re right. But I also don’t have to. I’ll choose to write whatever I want. Also, learn the usage of too and to. “I’ll cry if I want TO thanks”. Too means also or as well. Also if you are saying too expensive or too much. You’ll learn that in grade 5.

Hell of a game from Stutzle! Nice to sen him get on the board when it matters (not that he’s had any real opportunity to do so on this team so far). He is quickly rounding out his game - far more quickly than I anticipated. I’m too young to really remember the early years, but he’s up there with Karlsson and Havlat as the most exciting young players I’ve seen in Ottawa. He’s younger than both were and, as a rookie, he’s better so far, too. I’d watch every night anyways, but he makes it a pleasure to do so.

You’re wrong, he just forgot the commas.

Also, please never chirp someone in the basis of their grammar on a message board unless the mistake makes their point indiscernible. Makes you seem sort of petty and annoying. Just a tip! There are people far more intelligent than you who don’t spell well.
