Is Wright’s ceiling a really good 2C? Kind of a checking centre who will put up 30 + 30 while winning his matchups?

Another interesting thing about Seattle is with Catton in the pipeline which one of them will be moved to wing long term? I know Wright has the physical advantage but I'm still guessing they give Catton a look down the middle just to see how he is there.

Also, with the Kraken possible picking top 5 will they go after Misa or Hagens if one of them lands where they're picking? Then they will be in a real log jam at the center position (which I guess is not a bad problem to have).

Make it 27. He's had some great stretches, just needs to continue to get more consistent. He's been great on the PP and has really upped his engagement to level over the years.

I'd still like to see him get more shots on net. 27 points in 34 games is solid, but 40 shots on goal in that span is still really low. He's got that great snap shot, would love to see him use it more.
I wonder if someone else told him the same thing.

In Wright's first 45 games this season, he had 41 shots on net.

In his last 8 games, including three last night, he's had 12 shots. He's still not getting a lot of ice time, but the shot volume has gone up a healthy amount on a per-game basis. It will be interesting to see if he can keep it up.

If he shoots more and gets a bit more ice time some nights than the 12 minutes he sometimes gets, his production certainly is sustainable even if his shooting percentage drops.

I think he's development is coming along rather nicely. Perhaps a Team Canada invite to the WHC in May...I'm hoping it won't be a big significant role, but extra F. to get in a few games/reps would be nice.
He's good defensively, so he'll play well down in the lineup.

His ceiling certainly still is a 1C.... the likelihood of him hitting that are pretty small at this point but he JUST turned 21 this month. Guys like Jumbo Joe had a slow first two years and didn't pick it up until Wright's age.. Giroux didn't become a PPG player until 22-23, etc.

Way too soon to pigeonhole him imo

Truer words were never spoken. He is about halfway through his D+3 season -- so halfway along the five-year window one should wisely give prospects to develop their game. Folks can predict away if they wish, but I'm in no rush to make any judgments.

People predict what they hope will happen.

My hope and belief : The kid will be great.

I think the kid is coming into his own. I expect next year to be huge one for him.
Wright and other young guys on Seattle have to “come into their own” soon if the Kraken are going to have any relevance in that market. They might need to move out youth for experience over the summer and hope to start winning.

Attendance has been unchanged. CPA still has that new car smell :)
With how mid Beniers has been, this is going to be Wright’s team, give it a season or two,
Could be. But Beniers with Kakko has been a different player. I am interested to see how Beniers does in a full season with him.

That being said, Beniers at his best will be a 2-way C, maybe even in Selke conversations. Wright has higher end offensive potential.

I think the dream would be a three-headed matchup monster with Catton, Wright and Beniers in the middle that would pretty much have every trait in the book as a trio. Would give a ton of flexibility for an assortment of wingers and usage could be game or situation dependent.

Or with Stephenson there for the long-haul as comfy blanket for the coach, does Catton project more an electric winger?

We have no idea. On paper moving Catton to winger makes sense but I think he is a natural C and that suits him better.

I see Stephenson transitioning to an expensive 4C as well, though that seems unlikely.
