The hawks had full intention on drafting him top 10
Lots of second-guessing is possible with KD’s picks over the last couple drafts. Moore or Perreault Boisvert or Hage/Connelly even Levshunov or Demidov. I wouldn’t have made any of the picks the Hawks made. Granted, I’m not a scout or spent the time the Hawks did with their drafts. It will definitely be interesting to monitor over the next few seasons.

that is true with 90% of all draft picks. there is always 1-2 guy behind your pick that look better but how do they look compared to there slot. Moore put up a pt per game as FR, and is trending to do the same. he is also bigger and faster then Perreault. has perreault been better to this point yes. But moore has been ok as well, Boisvert has been the best player on a down ND team and is Bigger and more physical and a better shot then hage. has hage been a bit better? yes but Boisvert has been very good as well. arty was hurt and is jut now hitting his stride in the AHL as a 19 year old. he put 9 shots on goal last game. I dont like to cherry pick draft picks. i like to go back in 2-3 years and see if the redraft happened were would he go. IMO Arty would go top 5, probably not 2. Moore and Boisvert right now would go about there draft slot. As a point of REF in a redraft of 2019 vlasic would be top 7 up from 40 something.

He doesn't impress me that much based on the hype around his skating and the other tools. Sure he's good and will make the NHL because of his speed, but I also agree top 6 is optimistic.

I honestly think Ziemer is my favorite forward to project out on the team over Snuggerud and Wood (skating issues) and Moore (disappears all the time).

He likely only ends up in an NHL top 6 for balancing purposes/chemistry reasons. He's more of a bottom 6 guy, but he plays how the Hawks management wants the team to play; fast and with an aggressive forecheck.

If he played for Michigan you’d be all over his jock.

Because I think Ziemer is a better prospect? Lol, Moore is showing he's just not that great at the WJC, too.

Unsurprisingly, Ziemer had a bit of a breakout at WJC for people that haven't been watching him (still a LONNNGGGG way to go), and Moore was pretty quiet. I think Ziemer, Moore, and Snuggerud are all middle six prospects at best.
I think Snuggerud has a better chance of playing in a top 6 role as a complimentary winger.

Moore is a center swiss army knife player, strong skater. With experience he might become a shutdown player with a bit of offense. These guys are never the sexy pick, but you need them to win the cup.

How is Ziemer skating? I think that was a knock on him. I don't see a ton of upside there tbh.

Moore is going to play in the NHL, but I don’t see him ever hitting 40 points. Great skater and good puck handler. Also has the motor and defensive game, but close to 0 scoring skills. Was very disappointing how he had nothing in the way of scoring skills against players his own age at the WJC as a 19 year old first round pick. And the totals match what the Minnesota watchers tell us has been the outcome. Watch him for a few games and you see that near the goal he just has close to 0 clue how to convert “getting in good positions” to points.

Wonder if he has the mentality to change his game to be able to grind like Cogliano did, and still be a 40-45 points a season multi faceted forward.
