C Oleksii Myklukha - Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, QMJHL (2021 Draft)

How did he play?

I did not see the game but from what I heard he looked very fast out there but weak physically. He needs to get stronger, he lost all of his battles along the boards.

On the Q website he is listed at 156 lbs

He was playing on a line with Colorado prospect Alex Beaucage

How did he play?

He played RW on the first line with Marleau and Beaucage. He had the 2nd assist on the first two goals by the Huskies, one on the PP and the other at even strength. He didn't look out of place but it's true that physically he looks weak.

Sending him in the shootout was probably too early in his first game. His attempt wasn't very good.

There are highlights of the game:

LHJMQ – Incluant la couverture en direct des matchs, des clips audio et vidéo nouvelles exclusives, billets, statistiques, classements, horaires et autres.

Comments from the coach about him:

We can see that he has speed and that he has hands. He does not hesitate to go into traffic. We have seen that he must learn to make sure to place the puck on certain plays.

Well that strength has time to improve, I hope he can add some weight. But he’s fast

156 lbs is really not that bad for a 178 cm kid who just turned 17. It's natural that he needs to grow, especially coming from Europe where he wasn't ever challenged at this level, physically, before.

Which is why it may be better he came to the Q instead of say the Dub which is very physical.

Has slowed down a bit recently, one point in last 5 games and no faceoffs taken the last couple games. Hopefully he improves in those aspects.

He’s not playing centre, he is playing right wing. And yeah huskies don’t have a ton of offensive drivers. But if he can put up 0.8 ppg or so over the course of his first Q season, that is a success.

Would be good to see him play and develop as a center, hopefully its short term.

Any impressions of his long-term prospects from his first season in North America with Rouyn-Noranda?
