I would just let him keep doing what he's doing right now and not change anything. He doesn't need any NHL games this year but maybe he ends up getting a few if there are injuries to any top-6 guys before Kane comes back. He's a good example of being patient if a guy isn't clicking right away in a new league, cause he's been really turning it on lately.

He's now getting used to the pro game and taking off. Kinda presumed it would take him about 3 months. He was injured too often last year. Expect a ton of points through the new year. He's definitely ready for the NHL but they should let him ripen in the A for another couple of months.

He should certainly get a cup of NHL especially if we continue to play Connor Brown on top line and guys like Podkolzin and Kapanen with Draisaitl.
We wouldn't want him to get disgruntled like Broberg. Call him up if he deserves a look

So when does Edmonton give him a look? The run he's on is pretty impressive - 10 points in 4 games, 12 in 6; five multi-point nights in that stretch. I haven't seen any Bakersfield games - barely able to watch U20's and the odd Amerks game - so I'm curious what Oiler fans who are getting eyes on him think.

I think my post above still rings true.
The Oil have more or less written in stone that his ETA is going to as a Skinner/Arvidsson replacement once their contracts are up (or they're on IR).

Now Skinner's more or less already played his way off the team, but his role is has been filled by Kapanen, so the fact there's still 2 short-term offensive wingers ahead of Matt still rings true. At most, he'll likely get a few games at the end of the season if the team rests a couple guys.

But it is nice to see him clicking with the team's top centre (Pederson), and he is very much the one stirring the drink with Pederson and Caggiula. This has also let Bakersfield drop Griffith (their long-time go-to offensive driver) down to the 2nd line, and he's helped Philp and Jakob Perreault have a nice run offensively at the same time.
