Where would Jankowski go in the 2013 Draft.

Flames fan here, lots of people were talking about how Jankowski was really young for his draft year (i think a week too old to make the 2013 draft).

Where would he go if he were included in this draft?

Judging by his year so far... i dont even see him going in round 1.

It's not really a fair comparison. This year's draft looks quite a bit deeper than last year's.

If he wasn't drafted last year it's quite possible that he'd be in Dubuque right now, putting up a different statline than he is now. So it's really hard to say.

When you watch him play he's easily the best skater on the ice, and great stickhandling, but he's having a bit of trouble right now putting it all together.

Kinda an unfair question as this year is a much deeper year then last year but probably 25-30th. Also have you seen him play? He might not be lighting it up offensively neither did Bjugstad in his first few months in the NCAA, Jankowski has real good vision and has been solid defensively I don't think his stats diminish where he was taken.

Next year will be his real test. I think everyone knew he was going to have some issues going from prep school hockey right to the NCAA.

At least Gillies has looked great in Providence.

The deepest draft, aka every draft since 2003. I really don't understand HF logic in people reiterating it.

Uhm..no one with their head on straight thought last year was deep.

No, but it was said the year before the draft. AND the year before that. Drafts are always deep, and then suddenly when the draft comes up...it's not so deep.

I've heard 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 were all deep, based on thoughts the year prior.

And every draft night, suddenly, this isn't a very deep draft!

Mid-late 2nd. I've seen him at Providence and he's looked ok for a Freshman but nothing like a top prospect.

1st overall, he's the best player of the 2012 and 2013 drafts combined.

2008 is a very very deep draft: Stamkos, Pietrangelo, Doughty, Karlsson, Eberle, Myers, Carlson, Schultz, Henrique, Ennis, Hamonic, Bogosian, Stepan, Del Zotto, Gardiner, Hodgson, Holtby

2009 looks pretty good so far as well. Jury's still out on 2010 and 2011, nobody thought 2012 was a deep draft halfway through (hell nobody thought the 2011 draft was deep and it's produced some pretty good players already).

mid second probaly, some good players in the late first and his play hasnt warranted a jump in the rankings nor a fall

I don't think he's been having a disappointing year at all, he was coming from a pretty low level of competition, now he's stepping into NCAA hockey against better, older players, where plenty of good prospects struggle as rookies, and he's doing decently well. With that being said, he was considered a reach at 21 last year, if Calgary hadn't taken him there I don't know that any other team would have taken him in the 1st round. This draft is deeper than last year's, I'd guess he'd be a 2nd round pick, but who knows really. On a lot of 2013 mock drafts I've seen guys like Lazar, Hagg, Ristolainen, Gautheir, Rychel, Mantha, Fucale, Duclair, etc. being pegged as roughly 20th-30th overall picks, competition will be very tough this year to even make it into the 1st round.

I don't have a link but Weisbrod said he knew of 3 teams that were looking to take him in the first including Pheonix who tried to trade up with Calgary to get him and I think the other 2 teams mentioned were New Jersey and Vancouver but again I am a bit rusty on the info but I remember for sure he said 3 other teams.

I like Jankow, I am hopeful he will be a good player. But I'm still pissed we passed on TT, he looks like something really special right now. Hopefully Jankowski puts it all together next season and starts producing.

Actually he's looking quite good for a freshman, esp. since he wasn't highly touted and came right from high school.
