I migh have said this before. I belive he would have rised if he played in JWC and WC. Might even taken Sweden longer in the tournament(if used a lot). But from there to who will be the best of the kids in NHL in the future i do not know.

Yeah, i do. Beniers is a good centerman but i dont see a generational dude, and power is good but nowhere near the cream of the crop for defensemen. Eklund feels like a gamechanger to me. If the sabres do not trade eichel then they can absolutely make a great duo with him and eichel
This is very controversial and you don't know much about the Sabres needs. I like Eklund, but I can't put him above Power or Beniers.

That poster is adamant that Jeremie Poirier will be the best LD from the draft lol

I find it so pathetic that someone has so little control of their emotions that they’d deliberately lie about what a stranger on the internet said.

What I said at the draft was that Poirier was the best LHD in the draft. I have made no prognostications about whose the best since the draft. Twisting my words isn’t going to benefit you.

And besides, you insult anyone who doesn’t have the players your team draft’s higher. Apparently you think everyone should curtail their opinions to what will benefit your team, even if these opinions are long standing and come well before the Senators drafted players in 2020.

Pot calling the kettle black on this one bud.

If I recall some of our discussions regarding the best LHD occurred post draft as well.

Then produce that evidence.

I believe I’ve had discussions about who you demand we must think is the best LHD, otherwise you will personally attack those who disagree.

I don’t however believe I have said who is the best current LHD prospect from that draft. I haven’t actually thought about it in a long time. I don’t see a need to. Maybe I’d still have the opinion. I also might not.

But you lied about what I said, and of course you know that. It’s only to try to discredit me for not thinking higher of players your team drafted.

You can believe whatever you want to believe.

Id actually respect you if you simply admitted to making a terrible error in your initial evaluation and moved on.

But until then you do you.

Poirier will be the best LD from that draft, though? Sorry if this offends.

do you think he stays in sweden post draft year, or does he jump over to america?
I think he’ll play another year over in Sweden. I think you give him a year plus an off-season to bulk up, then invite him to camp and see where he’s at. He’s pretty frail looking, but he’s got great leverage, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s ready for the NHL going into 2022-2023.

well it also is bob murray. should eklund past the kraken, then the ducks must pounce on him

Ritchie is clearly the blunder that the OP must be making his opinion on. However, look at the draft record since then and tell me where they prioritized physics over skills. Dysdale, Perrault, Tracey, Zegras, Lundy, Jones, Steel, etc. I don't have a better way to put it other than based on recent history the OP is out to lunch.

Jones is actually all muscle and no skill
But yes, I definitely agree with your main idea – Bob is after skill way more than people realize.
Bob often goes after bigger guys in lower rounds tho.

I mean, Dylan Guenther is a very skilled prospect. If you think Eklund is more skilled then that's fair, but both players are closer in draft philosophy to Zegras/Drysdale than Nick Ritchie.
