Any further news on his condition? Can't believe this has gotten almost no media coverage after all the hype of the draft lottery.

Hope Seattle takes him. Incredible skater, his game is really well suited for being an NHL center. As much as people love flashy prospects that doesn't translate as often as you'd think into consistent NHL production. Being in the right areas and having a quick first 3 steps does, and Beniers does both things very very well.

I hope that the ducks snag him if Seattle chooses Hughes
I can’t see Seattle going Hughes at 2. Power and Benier probable for the top 2 . I can’t see Seattle going with the D that is two years out. He is 6 days away from being a 2022 draftee. He is almost a year younger than most prospects and committed to the Wolverines .This plus Seattle will be swimming in D after the expansion draft and I cannot see them go D but if they do , I’d say Power Clarke or Edvinsson would be preferred.

Beniers is a good player but not one you draft 2nd overall. He just doesn't have the hands or the high end skill to ever meet expectations people tend to have for a 2nd overall. I think this is why he started falling in most rankings lately and if he suffered an injury, he might as well drop out of the top10.

You think he's going to fall out of the top 10? This perception he's got 3rd line talent has to go. I agree with Steve K, there seems to be this misconception that just because he's balls to the wall and a hard worker that there's limited skill/upside. He's got excellent skills that are perhaps overshadowed by his work ethic. He's the kind of player NHL teams are infatuated with.

I was thinking undrafted now

I think he's a better fit for the Buffalo Sabres considering he could be a good 2C behind Cozens if Eichel leaves.

Power would likely be sheltered by Dahlin.

Dahlin is a natural RD that shoots left, ideally they would anchor the top pair for the next decade once Power develops

Dahlin has said he feels just as comfortable playing either side, no preference.

Gotta say locking up our D situation for the next 15 years is enticing.

Dahlin Power Jokiharju Borgen Johnson Laaksonen

We would just need to address the goalie situation as these young kids develope and management would only need to strictly worry about getting the forward core right.

Also have Samuelsson. A D for forward hockey trade would be nice if they do take Power over Beniers. Im indifferent to either

Samuelsson is better than most of those players. Sabres need centers. Eichel is leaving, and it’s not clear that Cozens and Mittelstadt are centers.

Where is Eichel leaving? And if no one wants to pay a high price for Eichel because of his questionable injury and the situation around her? Also Reinhart looked good in the center. Mittelstadt looked like a top 6 center, not to mention we have Cozens. I like Samuelsson, but he hasn't proven anything yet.

This is complete bullshit.

I don’t know where Eichel is going, but it sounds like he’s going to be traded. It sounds like the same thing for Reinhart. Cozens and Mittelstadt as the top two centers is not sufficient for an NHL team or even building an NHL team down the road. They both may not even be centers.

I agree that Samuelsson needs to still prove more, but he did well as a rookie and is a lot more proven than Laaksonen, Borgen, and Johnson.

I don't think there's any chance of that happening. He is the best bet to be a top 6 NHL center of the top 15. His skating is absolutely high end and skating is a skill. For hockey players arguably the most important skill.

I would literally bet you a million dollars he doesn't drop out of the top 10, even if he broke his ankle.
