Being a little cocky must not mean that they are bad people in general.
DeAngelo is one example IMO. From what I heard he is a chill and nice guy away from hockey. Once he hits the ice he is a hothead and always playing on that fine line between selfcontrol and losing it. As long as he has himself under control on the ice that "hothead" is a great thing for the team. If he loses himself, he gets into trouble.

His former coach Keefe even said, that this 99% of the time one of DeAngelos best talents. He can push himself further than normal people. But sometimes he can't control it anymore (as seen at least once every season sind his pre-draft year)

To be fair, DeAngelo was more than just a bit cocky. Wasn't he suspended multiple times for saying racial slurs on the ice?

And when you stand out as particularly bad whilst being in that mix it says what?

I have yet to see any evidence, substantive or circumstantial, that suggests Drouin has a bad attitude.

DeAngelo has creeped me the **** out in every interview I've ever seen of him

I totally called it! Drouin must think he's NHL ready to request a trade. Confidence is a double edged sort but I hope it works out for him (and the Sens).

That sounds like exactly what I'd want someone to do. He has some fire in him.

He's really not a hothead with a huge ego like he's being made out to be. I know him, went to school and had classes with plenty of his teammates, know his now ex-girlfriend, I've never had any experience to suggest it and it's only been online that I've seen it. He might have been cocky or just very confident in his ability due to him being basically better than everyone in his age group but that's not unusual.

When he was in midget they'd get to him, but I mean he was 15-16. He's probably the most passionate player I've seen come out of Lac St Louis.

I don't mean ego like he's a dick, poor choice of words on my part.

He's prideful. Nothing wrong with that but always rubs someone the wrong way.
