Linus Karlsson now plays for Skelleftea and he is third in the SHL in goals as a rookie.
Since he was acquired by Vancouver in the Dahlen deal, I don't think anyone outside of Canucks fans have paid much attention to him, but he is probably more NHL-ready than Klimovich and the Canucks will have openings in the bottom half of their roster next year. He might be an NHLer next season. Skelleftea has a good team this year so he will probably go deep in the SHL playoffs, and then potentially either the World Championships or an AHL contract where the organization can get a look in the Calder Cup playoffs.

Karlsson broke the SHL rookie goal scoring record this season. Not sure his game will pan out in NA, but has some potential for sure. Hope the Canucks sign him this summer.

In context tho, he broke the rookie goal scoring record as a 22 yr old. Previous record was held by Elias Pettersson who did at age 18.

I'd like to get him to the AHL asap and really see for myself what his skating looks like. If it has improved then his shot and IQ which has always been his strength will make him a very good middle-6 NHLer.

2nd in goal scoring in the SHL as a 22 yr old is no small feat.

A good comparable might be a poor man's Brock Boeser.

Right Handed, Great shot and IQ, skating is the hiccup.

Pettersson broke the record at 19, he turned 19 early in the SHL season.

Hopefully he is able to play a 3rd line PP2 role for us. That would be ideal so we could move one of Garland/Boeser for D help and then have Klimovich marinate a bit in the AHL

Another strong AHL season* from Karlsson.
He will be pushing for a spot next season.
Lots of competition at forward for the Canucks (Bains, Raty, Sasson, Karlsson will be boiling over) and they will be in a cap squeeze as usual.
Lots of talk about Raty right now, but Karlsson has been on a hot streak too, and has been more consistant throughout the year.

skating is an issue for me. He doesnt get to the forecheck fast enough to be a bottom 6 in the NHL. If he can improve his skating then i think he has a lot of offensive instincts that would allow him to carve out a top 9 role. He is very good around the net.
