Ya it was almost like couturier was pigeonholed as a defensive guy or something.

That being said I don't think that Luchanko is the offensive prospect that he was even with his outstanding camp he probably ends up back in junior but it's torts so maybe he plays him more and sit Michov as that sounds like a Torts mindf**k season.

Nope.

He will end up a London Knight. The Knights are all in again this year. Adding a hometown kid in Luchanko would be huge

Already chatter from Kevin Kurz and Jeff Marek he'll be traded from Guelph to a contender this year. A lot of these trades happen right after the would Juniors!
To London for Easton Cowan is going to be my guess

Value wise it's even and i suspect something is going on with Cowan over in London with them taking away his C.. i could be way off, but London is where i want him to go.

That makes no sense unless it ends up a 3 way trade. What value would Cowan be to a bad team? Teams also don’t typically trade impact 19 year olds in go for it years.

They never gave him the c in the first place. Cowan is fine in london, they wouldn't even consider trading him

Will not be London can guarantee that.

They NEVER spend that much on a potential 1 year rental.
It is possible, The Hunters are tight with Keith Jones. Part of it could be an assurance to leave someone in London next year (Barkey maybe?). But London has made moves like this before although the ask for Luchanko might be too high and they might get out bid.

Well off the top of my head, I can remember trading for goalie Adam Dennis just so that they didn’t have to face him again in playoffs (since he single handedlymeliminated them the year before when knights were heavily favoured). What about when they traded for John Tavares at the deadline? Or another local kid, Greg McKegg to make another run in his last year?

I’m sure there’s more that I’m missing. But the fact is, the knights have another real shot at going all the way to memorial cup again this year with their current group. Last year with Cowan, Bonk, etc and although they have Dickinson one more year, he may stick in the NHL.

Knights love to go after local products, especially ones that came from the Jr Knights system. Luchanko ticks those boxes plus he’s the definition of Hunter brother style player, just like Cowan. Bonus for Luchanko is that they potentially get 2 years out of him! He could be back next year if he doesn’t stick in NHL again (just because he got a few games this year doesn’t mean he’s a lock for next). So if they get Luchanko, Dickinson, and O’reilly all back next year they could still compete yet again. If they’re dust, then they could potentially trade Luchanko or O’Reilly or Dickinson to recoup some picks for the rebuild after this year.

Forgot to mention - the Flyers and knights connection may also help the cause here

Buddy that literally makes no sense. You don’t trade away your best player Cowan if you’re going for it.

He never had the “c”. Denver Barkey has been the captain

Those trades were in 2006, 2009 and 2011 I believe

Luchanko will be easily 3x 2nds 3x 3rds a 16 or high drafted 17 year old.

Londons 16 year old told other teams he wouldn’t report to them to end up in London, he also has a NTC I believe and why would he waive it after cheating his way to get to London. Londons 17 year old FRP was traded to Barrie and never came. Who are they trading for luchanko?

Dale hunter is smart and doesn’t make those very bold moves because often times for teams it doesn’t work out and you screw your future. Luchanko although eligible for next year is likely to be a 1 year player in the OHL before making the NHL next year.

Luchanko, Dickinson and O’Rielly all have a chance of making it to the big leagues next year. Dickinson having the best chance of cracking San Jose. Too risky for mark and Dale they’d never do this. Not making risky moves like this is why they’ve been on top of the OHL the last 20 years

I have no doubt they’ll stick their nose into it like they always do. But they’ll pull out once they drive the price way up and some other sorry team gets fleeced. Usually how it goes with them.

It’s crazy that a guy like Luchanko makes Phillys lineup as a 18 year old and plays a few games and gets sent back to junior yet still next year again it’s NHL or junior.

I know most people realize that still but for some players this no AHL thing is just too bad
