C Jack Eichel (2015, 2nd, BUF) IV

I like him a lot as a player. I hate him with Eichel, though. He doesn't pass to the kid. He hasn't finished passes Eichel's sent his way. For the first few games, they were more in each others way than anything else. I want to see Moulson put back on Eich's LW, Girgs or Reinhart on the right.
All the line-shuffling Bylsma's done, and never has he separated those 2. They're not good together.

Well part of that is if he separates Kane and Eichel, he has to figure out how to fit Ennis and O'Reilly together too. It's possible it starts to click with Evander and Jack. It is only a few games so far. And besides, Disco Dan will likely dance everyone into another line at some point.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ennis playing RW on the line with Kane and Eichel. Ennis is a slick playmaker and his speed will create room for Eichel to work his magic. Kane can bang in the corners and get some dirty goals. Ennis has great hockey sense and can feed off of Eichel. It might be putting eggs in 1 basket but it could result in some goals.

While that seemed to work in that one pre-season game, I just don't see that panning out. Then you've got 3 guys on a line who all want the puck on their stick a lot.

I'd like to see a top 6 of:

Kane - O'Rielly - Girgensons
Moulson - Eichel - Ennis

The first line will be a serious PITA to play against, with enough skill to score quite a bit. The second line would be tough to defend, but for other reasons. Kane just hasn't been able to finish Eichel's gift wrapped tap-ins, and Moulson is known for that. Plus, Eichel and Ennis looked great together in the preseason.

It's worth a shot.

No. Ennis isn't a better fit. Ennis turns the puck over and kills plays.


Kane has played well.... their line has been dangerous. It just hasn't clicked on all cylinders yet..but we are only 4 games into the season.

Despite a slow start (statistically) I have no doubt he is going to be right around 60 or so points.

He creates 5+ legitimate chances a game, it's actually incredible he only has 2G this year.

Really no explanation how he isn't at 8-10 points right now.
