Because many player who put up decent numbers in the AHL never made it in the NHL. Because he is 21 nad not 18 or 19. Because I see DeBrincat, Howden and others putting up points in the NHL. Beacause he was first rounder who was supposed t be one of the top prospects out of Russia and at 21 he couldn't even make it to the KHL.Because no 21 year old has ever become a decent player in the NHL after putting up good numbers in the AHL right? I like how youre saying that NA ruined him when his development was being stunted in the KHL

Anyone calling a 20 year old who was a lateish first round pick just a few short years ago a bust probably doesn’t know enough about said player to rationally discuss him anyway. What’s the point.

Look at the list of players above him and around him, most went on to become NHL players.

He got 5/6 minutes a game for those 15 games. He didn’t get the opportunity to succeed playing those minutes did he? Context matters

[mod] Numbers in the AHL do not guarantee NHL success, at least at ths age, he is not a prodigy underager who scores in a men's league at this point. No guarantee doesn't mean he won't have success. Just like the numbers in the KHL as a 18 y.o.. Scoring in the KHL at age 18 is not easy, it's not the CHL. And development is not points scored. Logic is a nice thing, you should try it.

You know nothing about context of development in Russia. If the whining tale about minutes is about to ensue, then just put him on the Flyers right away and give him 18 minutes per game on the top line for the sake of his develoment or else we claim "he didn't get the opportunity".

I could make the same case about the KHL scoring, the numbers there dont always guarantee success in the NHL, as weve seen time and time again. But players who have the work ethic and development cut out for them can carve out success in the NHL, as weve also seen.

It looks like much less than half.
Edit: The vast majority of players in the range that Rubstov is in right now (0.8 to 0.9 PPG) became an NHL regular. Emile Poirier, Jeremy Colliton, and Cal O'reilly seem to be the only ones that didn't.

If you think playing 5/6 minutes a night regardless of where helps his development and provides opportunities to grow you might want to think about following another sport.

This sucks because he was playing so well that he had a chance to make the big club before the season was out.
It's a good thing the Flyers are drafting in bulk and are hitting on so many picks, because some of these guys are getting decimated by injuries before they even make the big club. Stolarz, Morin, Laberge, Rubtsov will all essentially lose an entire year of development or more, with other guys like Allison missing significant time as well.
