Edstrom is going to be the next William Karlsson (Wild Bill). But for Shars now instead. His 200-foot game is impressive for his age in SHL. Will be interesting to see if he can upgrade his play this upcoming playoff.

I like this player but there is zero top-6 upside in my opinion. Could be a solid #3. I've been kinda treating him and Filip Bystedt equally in my mind but I think there's an outside chance that Bystedt could be a 2C and I don't think that's there for Edstrom. Still, a 3C in Edstrom's mold has value. Size, two-way play, not a black hole offensively.

why?

I mean this is a Trotz player through and through, so not surprised they prioritized him in a deal for Askarov. I do agree the offensive upside looks a bit limited right now but a big 3C who can play both sides of the puck is never a bad thing.

Exactly, Edstrom is very projectable and you always need guys like that in your lineup. I would be surprised if he isn't at least a very good 4C.

Edstrom and Bystedt are kinda similar, so he was expendable for the Sharks

I loved you in the prospect game, David. Godspeed.

I do think the kid still has solid potential for a depth C.
