Belarusian and Russian organizations don't give the best opportunities to players they expect to leave for NA.

And what's the evidence for this claim when it comes to Belarussians? They called up Klimovich to play in the WC just to showcase him before the draft, gave Sharangovich, Kolyachonok and Solovyov their first good pro seasons, made Kolosov Minsk's starter and never looked back. They play Moroz in top-6 role and gave him an extension until 2026. Their junior prospects come and go to NA as they please and are always welcomed back with open arms.

So where the hell is this coming from?

Some teams in Russia, sure, I don't know if they are doing it for sure but I understand how it's easy to perceive their handling of certain players as such (Marchenko or Morozov especially). But Belarus, literally nothing to support such a claim.

Not ready for KHL just reinforces the argument he wasn't ready for AHL. That makes sense considering he spent most of his time in the Belarussian 2nd league.

However, also raises the question what was his father so unhappy about considering Danila had very little direct experience with coaches at the Extraliga level and after the draft there was a massive spotlight on him, surely coaches would have been under pressure to give him the best possible treatment. The fact that he was invited to play in the WC that year also just underlines this. At that point, he was getting special treatment at the federation level.

Klimovich's father is a coach, so that probably played into the equation. He seems to have a little too high opinion of Danila, as far as I'm concerned.

Regarding Klimovich, he needs a summer of mental rest and physical prep.

Quite the generalized statement. Every team is different, every situation is different.
A team like Minsk doesn't have a biggest budget, so they'll play talent wherever they can find it.

He's pretty much the classic all tools/no toolbox guy.

He can look like Jeff Carter at times sniping goals off the wing, has size, a great shot, pretty decent skater, has a bit of a physical/mean streak. Everything is there to be a solid middle-6 winger but he's just dumb as rocks. No idea in terms of defensive positioning, atrocious puck management, too many stupid penalties, inconsistent effort.

He should never have been put in the AHL as a colossally unready player for that level and it was predictably a developmental disaster. It was basically like going from Jr. B to the AHL at age 18.

He's a bit better defensively than he was in 2021 but 3 years of playing on 4th lines have also totally stagnated his skill development.

Took a big step back this season, but is still young enough that I think he staying the AHL for at least another season.

That's an understatement to say the least.

His NHL chances are literally zero IMO, just a poor draft selection and not developed properly..

He's having a strong bounce back season and is putting himself back in the picture.

I would say he has demonstrated considerable resolve to overcome the horrible development non plan he was subjected to as an 18 year old to get to where he is at right now.

I've been encouraged by what I've seen from him this year. It's quite remarkable everything considered.
