Definitely not a strength but I don’t think it’s that bad either. I’d consider it about average.I don’t get the alleged skating issues.
I saw that as his biggest strength? He was constantly winning foot races![]()

4 assists so far. 14 pts in 7 games. Definitely should be in the ahl right now.
Zary is clearly too good for the WHL at this point, not much point in him being there but he will obviously be in Stockton full-time next year and it's not too hard to imagine him getting some time with the Flames in the 21-22 season. He's looking very much like the 2nd line center of the future, and with all due respect to Mikael Backlund, the Flames desperately need a line driving center for the 2nd line, its seems like a very long time since that has been the case.
Think you spelled Monohan's name wrong. Backlund isn't the problem with the Flames.
1. He scored twice tonight. I wouldn't worry about +/- I doubt it's his doing rather than just random chance.rough start for the kid. 3 games in and only one point and a -7to show for it so far... Is this kid a bust?
Way too early to call him a bust. If he kept those stats up all of this season then yeah you likely could. But I don’t think anyone is that bad over an extended stretch.rough start for the kid. 3 games in and only one point and a -7to show for it so far... Is this kid a bust?
Embarrassing postrough start for the kid. 3 games in and only one point and a -7to show for it so far... Is this kid a bust?
No the post is relevant. Zary was garbage last season. So far he has shown nothing except last night. Since there were lots of players his age tearing up the AHL last year he isn't looking good unless it is because his coach is an idiot.Embarrassing post
Except this poster is only posting it because he is upset about some Flames - Leafs trade thread. It's ultimate pettinessNo the post is relevant. Zary was garbage last season. To be fair, he as injured in camp and missed a good chunk of the season. When he returned he was buried in the bottom 6 on a strong team.No the post is relevant. Zary was garbage last season. Adjusting to playing pro is hard enough. Coming back from a broken foot mid-season while trying to do it is unfair. Last season wasn’t at all representative of Zary’s skill or potential honestly.Zary is two points shy of matching his point total from last season (25) which he amassed in 53 games.
He has played just 22 games thus far.
That’s impressive. On the surface I was thinking his point totals might’ve been a byproduct of Phillips. Thanks for mentioning that they don’t play on the same line.Adjusting to playing pro is hard enough. Coming back from a broken foot mid-season while trying to do it is unfair. Most impressively he’s doing it away from Phillips and Pelletier at 5v5 all season. He’s been asked to centre the second line with Emilio Peterson and Pospisil(?) almost all year.
