Last year's U18 team was loaded and was coached damn near perfect from top to bottom. This year's team was straight shit and had nowhere near the same talent, yet Bedard still scored almost a third of the teams goals and was the only one with more than 2 goals.
Yeah big credit to Hockey Canada for hiring Dave Barr, he was worlds better than Baumgartner

Kamloops Blazers officially awarded the 2023 Memorial Cup.... now the rumors of Bedard to Kamloops will pick back up again eventually with that announcement

Bedard and Stankoven duo next season would be just cruel to other teams in the league

At this rate, I think Stankoven might be in the NHL.
He'd have to really really kill it. If there's any doubt at all, he's going back to Kamloops.
The Dallas Stars owner is also co-owner of the Kamloops Blazers. If you want to know what Kamloops means to the Gaglardi family, consider that there's a statue of his grandfather Phil in downtown Kamloops.

I think that's more fan driven than actual rumours.

Didn't Kamloops load up this season? They pretty much went all in, I don't see them having many assets to acquire Bedard.

The Pats will still be terrible next year, but I see Paddock hanging on to Bedard until he gets a bounty at the trade deadline.

They didnt really load up at all via trades no... i believe the most significant was losing a 2nd round pick in 2025 for Toporowski. If anything, they brought in more draft picks at the deadline to be able to utilize next season in trades potentially

In my opinion they are going to have an extremely good team next season. They are very good this year but next year they have potential to be a powerhouse. I can definately see them move draft picks for studs to load up for the Mem Cup

Reuniting Bedard with Fraser would be something else. Records would fall.

The imcompetnce by Regina to fail to surround Bedard with any legit talent is mind boggling. Trading a 1st rounder for Stringer, allowing Evans and possibly Svozil to graduate and not get anything for them?
Other than Howe, they won’t have much next season to surround Bedard.

They better hope they bring in a helluva good import, and fleece some teams like Lethbridge did the them with Stringer in order to properly surround Bedard AND see internal improvements with other players on the team. Or he’s GONE.

You guys think he’s gonna get any taller?? Incredible talent but at 5’9 he’s gonna have to be extra built.

He's turning 17 in a couple months...might still have room to grow a couple inches hopefully.

I think most of the growth is done by 16 but you can still grow until you're around 19 or something

Hes tearing up junior yes but he isn't NHL ready. He will 100% be back in junior. Especially with Kamloops hosting the Memorial Cup... the owner(same owner as Dallas Stars) will want that title

Show me some or your factual opinions that makes you think he is not NHL ready?
Because he plays a pro style hockey and also in my eyes looks NHL ready,

Does anyone know how tall are his parents?
thats a starting point

Hey if Stankoven can step into the NHL next season playing his center position at 19, id be ESTATIC for him... but at his size, i dont see it. I am a massive massive fan of him and have been for many years since Peewee hockey but in my opinion i just dont see any way he can step into the lineup in Dallas next season and make a big enough difference that they would want to burn a year off his ELC. Hes a fantastic junior player right now with obvious potential but playing against big grown men in the NHL is a different beast. That, mixed with Kamloops hosting the Memorial Cup, i would bet everything i own he will be back in Junior.

I'm not being a Stankoven hater or anything when saying this, i am just being realistic.

and trust me I would LOVE to be wrong about what i said...

I guess we will wait and see!!!

Better than McDavid at the same age

It's close, but I don't think so. anyway, we got two WJHC tournaments in the span of 6 months, a full CHL season and possibly a spot on next year's senior men's WHC team (if available) leading up to the draft. It's going to be a hell of a season.

Bedard isn't on the same level as McDavid was, Bedard is a Pat Kane level player. Both are great players but there's a clear gap between McDavid and Kane. Also you can't even say he's better than Michkov at this point.

Yeah can definitely keep growing. I was pretty under 6 feet until 17 at least and I'm 6'4 now.

People underestimate Michkov. He's also the real deal. Insane prospect. A freaking force. Bulldog with skills and deadly shot. High IQ. And clutch too.
