I’ve been saying he’s had a legitimately NHL-level shot for two years. By the time he’s drafted, it will be as good or better than Matthews’. Ridiculous.

I haven't given it much thought, but I don't think shooting ability develops linearly like that.

Like we've been saying all along, Regina doesn't have a lot of good players this year and it's hard for a 16 year old to carry a team and produce at a league leading rate in the WHL despite being an exceptional player.

you have to remember he did this against austria, this isn't exactly top level competition. I want to see how he looks against the russians, Finns, swedes, americans.

Michkov looked good vs the canadians and he was the one dictating play for the russians

Should send him to the Olympics, Regina isn’t a contender and probably won’t make playoffs.

He was SICK in this game, easily could have had a few more points. I figured he’d play more of a supporting role, limited minutes in the bottom 6, because … that’s what pretty much all 16 year olds do, in the rare cases that they make team Canada. But looking like I could be wrong about that!

He’s probably been a top 3 forward for team Canada so far? Along with McTavish and Perfetti.

There was a day that a junior age player would never make an NHL team. It would take at least a few years in the minors first. As players are more skillful at younger ages than ever this has lowered the age of entry into the NHL. The World Juniors was once a tournament of 20 year olds it certainly isn't any longer.

and that's just 1 game and not getting ahead of things and were not that impressed.
