Well he hasn't really matched up against an Elite C yet has he? Wait til the Kelowna game to be impressed.

Connor McDavid and or Dylan Strome.

Is that not Elite enough? Strome has more points as a 18 year old and averaged more points as a 18 year old then Tavares and Stamkos did in their draft years.

That penalty on Cassels was one of the weakest Penalties I have ever seen.

Even the guys on sportsnet were shocked at how bad that penalty was.

Cassels made up for it on the PP.

I've only really watched him during the playoffs this year, but I've noticed Cassels is almost always in a good position regardless of the zone or game circumstances. Seems to play a very smart, structured game for a junior player.

The guy is a beauty
Amazing: after nearly leaving the game, Cassels wins the faceoff and the Generals score to win in OT. Assists on tying and winning goals.

McCann for points potential, but Cassels just seems to be a winner. He just seems to always be in position. The patience he has with the puck is very nice as well. He slows things down.

Horvat, McCann, and Cassels down the middle is promising for Vancouver's future. Hopefully.

I was talking about the Memorial Cup.

I know we played Erie I went to two of the games

Cassels did nothing but impress in that series. Outperformed McDavid.

McCann outscored Cassels and is a year younger.

McCann by a good mile.

McCann had 4 more goals and both had 81 points but Cassels in 2 less games with a slightly higher +/-.

Both have a similar two-way game but Cassels is in a leading position on a Memorial Cup contender.

Good mile? If you mean because of the one year of age difference I guess... but Good mile is a stretch of a term in this case.

Are you telling me SSM wouldn't also be a Memorial cup contender if they made it?

Anyway, I like Cassels it's just that McCann is basically a year younger and accomplished more than Cassels did in his draft +1

He's been pretty pedestrian thus far.

He was exceptional in the OHL final but hasn't brought that same level yet.

He was not as good as in the OHL final, but Pedestrian is way to strong.

He has 3 assists in two games, both primary. The second one he was crippled, stayed on and won two faceoffs for the win.

EDIT: Ahh oiler fan, still mad about mcdavid being dummied

Cassels seems smarter to me. It will come down to whether his wheels can keep up with the NHL game. Also gives off that warrior/winner vibe more than McCann, real or not? Why are intangibles are so ... intangible

He has 3 assists in two games, all primary.

His production is fine. Only MDC has more points then him on the General, with 4, and he's clearly a much better prospect than Cassels.

Its impressive for both too considering they had Mono before the season, that can take a lot out of you for sure.

A glimmer of hope on the horizon folks.

The fact that he got 3 assists, all primary with an injury, and people still think he has not been as good as the OHL final, is a damn good sign lol

do nucks fans like cassels or mccan better

I like Cassels better, his defensive game is on par with Mccann and I think his offensive game will translate better the the NHL. Mccann has better wheels but Cole has the cerebral game and the natural offensive instincts to make it happen.

3 assists in two games. One leading to a game winner.

I see edmonton fans with the mcdavid avatars will be frequently chiming in to downplay his contribution during the memorial cup (if he can still play after blocking that shot. Might hurt more in the morning).
